it was a good episode, nothing great.

I was letdown and thought the dying scene was cheesy. She just eats a candy bar?

Is that normal for a person to die like that a day or two after inhaling a bunch of smoke?

I love how Kate said, " i get to cry and complain one day a year about my dad". 1 day a year???? How about every day you've been on the show. Im so over her

Wasn’t that the point? She hates her initial response to this day. I think it was realistic in the fact that shock. I’m a pastor and have had to break awful news to people shock can make people respond in odd ways.

This. I took no issue with that scene. They thought they were in the clear. She was making plans for them to stay in a hotel that night. She thought the doctor had her mistaken for someone else because they were there for a "burned hand".

Only thing I took issue with was nobody seemed to ask how he died and wtf happened? Both her and Miguel were like "what?" Wouldn't you be like, "I just saw him and he said he was ok and he had a burn".

The anniversary date of his death is the Super Bowl? That game is played on a different date every year.

How can anyone who still liked Kate like her after this episode?

She's by far the worst character

Did they ever give an actual date? If you lost a spouse or dad on Easter are you going to remember it on the date or the actual holiday itself. Same principle here. I have no issue with this.

Holy hell I was one of the one's watching after the SB. Is this show always this emotional? I remember watching the pilot episode and just lost touch with it after. I'll never look at a crock pot the same again. That was well done.

i thought that scene was actually great.

I loved how we only see Jack's body in the reflection

I actually really liked the episode and how they handled Jack's death but maybe I'm in the minority.

It really ties together the big 3 in the future and all their problems. Yea we knew Kate was fat because her dad died but now we've SEEN it. We know why Kevin is all messed up. his dad died in the middle of a fight he's been carrying that ever since.

I'm pumped for future Tess, I thought that was brilliant

If anyone dvd'd the show, go back and look at the scene where the super bowl is on the tv (on the right side of the shot). I can't even remember the scene now but I could have sworn it showed a play from last nights super bowl! It was the play where the Patriots intercepted the ball towards the end of the second quarter. If so, that would be some impressive editing and cool show trivia!

So we all agree that Miguel is going to start Big Three Homes with all 3 kids, right? Randall has the handyman-on-hyperdrive thing going on, Kate is good at wrangling customers from her time as Kevin's handler, and Kevin just needs something to do with his hands, since he's rudderless, atm.

I ventured over to another board and it is all bitching about Toby. I guess it must be some board filled with overweight chicks. That is the ONLY explanation I can fathom.

Yes. Throughout the day actually. All the clips on the TV were from yesterday.

They did. It was the tipped ball INT down by the endzone.

Agreed about the Tess as an adult scenes. I thought for sure they were going to get Jordan. I thought this is exactly what they need....a fun little boy running around. I actually hope Beth gets pregnant.

The episode was great all around. It caught me by suprise with the heart attack. I was prepared for the show but that got me. My Daddy died from his heart too. I'm still not over it. When the nurse came out and said, "He expired" I lost it. WTF, milk expires. Daddies don't expire. I totally understand Rebecca's denial and confussion.

This episode checked a lot of personal boxes for me too. I’m kind of Kevin, without the addiction problems, and Rebecca combined in relating it to my own father’s death. I’ve done better with dealing with it over the years, but this week will be the 17th anniversary of his passing, so the episode really brought it all to forefront again.

Pretty sure the timeline was a couple of hours, not days after wards.
