Louisiana Key Academy is not your typical charter school. Schools for dyslexic children are a godsend to families with a dyslexic child. My son went to private school until 3rd grade. He struggled so much in school. He was diagnosed with dyslexia after the 1st grade.

I put his name in the lottery at The Max Charter School in Thibodaux. Yes, they have a waitlist. He was selected and we carpooled to Thibodaux since we are 45 minutes away.
The school only has 120 students in grades 1-8. 2 classrooms per grade, so 7 or 8 kids in each class. The teachers are all certified for teaching the dyslexia curriculum. It was the best thing to happen to our family.

In 7th grade he wanted to go to school with his twin brother and since we were the last one left from the area in the carpool. He still struggles in school but he’s not making F’s. He passes and is thriving, happy, and involved in sports.

According to a comment I read it was an American Flag built off the back of blacks.
