Safe to say we are in a sophomore slump? Still enjoying it but where is this season going?

I have started to question that too. It seems like they have almost completely went off the "How and when did Jack die in the fire".

But if you think back to last season the drinking angle with Jack went for an episode or two in the beginning and then that drifted off as they went about the little details and nuances of the family and William's life in his dying months. But for the last 4 episodes outside of the Memphis episode, Jack's alcoholism angle returned. So I think we will see the more interesting stuff come back after December and from what I heard they are planning for the Super Bowl lead out episode to be a big episode relating to Jack's death.

Has anyone ever said Jack is DEAD? I watched the last episode and realized how they are always saying, "He is gone" "Not coming back" ect., but don't recall anyone saying he is dead. Also, even if he is said to be dead, there could be some other ways he could still be alive, seeing the fire scenario. The writing last episode just planted the thought in my mind that this is always the way he is talked about in past tense, and that one way or another he may actually still be alive somehow.

Yes. We’ve seen his ashes. We’ve also seen the kids at his funeral.

Interesting that they didn't get together right away after Jack's death.

It is smart writing on their part. Jack is so likable it is already an uphill climb making us accept Miguel. However, knowing he didn't swoop in immediately after jack's death does help.

Im guessing jack died the night of the Cowboys-Steelers super bowl (was '96 or '97 i think--puts the kids around age 16-17).

Okay. That's right about the ashes and kids at funeral. I saw on here the Miguel theory, that he killed him, but also saw on the On Demand tease that one of the actors kidded about it and said he thought Miguel did it.

Saw another theory that the house was robbed, the dude had Jack's stuff on or near to him, or burned beyond recognition, Jack was drunk and took blame and left. It said he found out that Miguel was with his wife and left, but that doesn't hold water because of the time lapse.

When you have a fire, though, you do instantly think of the natural cover-up plot.

Anyway, I'm going with Jack is still alive. Definitely would get people back next season.

To be sure, she's awful, IMO but you can't be critical of her character without the SJW shite-flinging monkeys screaming "Body shamer!" at you.

Airplane and Elmer's mix. Can't sell you the recipe, but I can share it with you.

Plump girl is a mess, but nobody is knocking on pretty boy for trying to steal his roommate's part. You'd think his dad would have taught him better than that. Is that dude ever going to get a scene right? He may annoy me more than the weight challenged.

I have not liked this season much at all. I still wish the stillborn triplet had lived and Kevin had died. Or maybe Kevin and Kate. Both awful humans.
