In today’s society it would not surprise me if they remade The burbs as follows:
Corey Feldman is now a black chick with a penis
Rumsfeld is now old Italian guy who fought in desert storm but is portrayed as a racist
Dr Kopek is a Hungarian tranny, but portrayed in such a manner you feel sorry for him
Tom Hank’s is a Mexican cartel sympathizer
The annoying neighbor is Irish

Okay, I am about halfway through and I am pretty sure I am the only one in this thread who is actually watching this. It’s not bad at all. The race thing that everyone in this thread is talking about is heavy handed in the first episode but then it is never mentioned again. After that, it is a good mystery and pretty funny. Surprisingly, I am enjoying this.

Nonsense. People get irritated when shows they like get remade, gender-swapped, race-swapped and then stuffed with woke and LGBTQ crap. I have no issue with a 'Burb family being a WM/BW interracial family. But when you use the relationship to push messaging about racism it's not a realistic thing, it's agenda-driven garbage.

3 episodes in and it’s pretty good. Kind of reminds me of Grosse Pointe Garden Society, also on Peacock. I’m down for a good mystery with a little comedy thrown in.
10 minutes in to the first episode, and I almost turned it off. Glad I read this thread that it doesn’t last.
Also- I haven’t seen the original, so I didn’t know what to expect.

I finally finished tonight and it is pretty good. Lots of twists and turns and the characters are likable. And they left it on a cliffhanger for the next season.
