It's still gonna attract the kind of people that make it unattractive to go to movies

been spoiled by the comfy reclining seats at AMC Clearview

Heading there this weekend. Are they still this way and for the standard showings?

what's killing them is that movies go from in theaters to streaming/available to rent very quickly now

That's what it is for me. There isn't enough time for word-of-mouth to spread. By the time I even hear about most new movies, it's already on streaming

As far as I know, all theaters have the reclining seats, except for that one Imax screen that is located behind the concession stand.

That Nicole Kidman commercial before the movies is so annoying.

You sound miserable. When you're watching at home do you require people to hold back from coughing or making any noises while eating? Or do you normally just watch movies by yourself since you don't like being around your family?

I actively dislike the higher end one, specifically the ones that serve food with a waiter. Just terribly distracting and hearing people chew is grating as hell

Love when I walk in and it’s only popcorn and drop down seats.

I generally don't care what people look like IRL, but when you continually and purposefully have things done to alter your appearance, you basically open yourself up to fair criticism.

Lately something about her post-procedure jutting jaw and partially frozen mouth makes it very difficult for me to watch her onscreen now.

And I'm not trying to be purposefully malicious towards her at all — it's like an uncanny valley, subconscious uneasiness that just makes me not want to see anything she's in.

I struggled through Expats (the one where they pretend a 60-year-old actress has a three-year-old son), and it just about wore me out.

Hundreds of millions of dollars, full time personal staffs at her beck and call, and yet for some reason she continues to do this to herself.

This. They could've saved all that money and simply added silent lunk alarm buttons to chairs to get rid of all the shitheads ruining the cinema experience.

It's pretty insane how much of the first world's (and India's) economy is dedicated to what for the most part is incredibly frivolous and superficial consumption
