So ummmm when does Vilggefortz go bad?
That final scene with him seemed a little off. Seemed like he was killing a good guy on that tree. Maybe I misread that tho

but I think it suffered from having only 8 episodes.
It does feel like your just starting to get into the show when it ends.
Like they spent 8 episodes and only introduced season 2.
Also, it kinda annoys me that Yennefer acts like she didn’t very cognitively make the choice to give up having babies for her ascension. She’s like “I want What was taken from me” and she very clearly gave it up willingly.

Gonna try to save my re watch for the week of season 2, but I'll probably wind up watching 3 or 4 times. I liked the intro to witcher 1 game being in the series. Im thinking cirilla will wind up being evil.

On episode 4 now and I’m really confused with the Timeline.
What is happening with that?
What is happening with that?

That stuck out for me since the enchanter clearly told her the cost for her beauty and she was like hell yea frick it don't even need pain meds lets go!!

Yeah he wasn’t even cryptic.
I think He point blank said you won’t be able to have kids and was looking at her vagina.
It wasn’t a spell it was a hysterectomy with no anesthetic.
And yeah apparently no other witch got a makeover. Fragilla didn’t look like Tyra banks at the end, and apparently no one cared about Sabrina’s wars.
Minor complaints. Overall loved the show. Watched it all over the weekend.

Just keep watching, it all starts piecing together the more you watch.

To be fair, decades have passed since she made that decision
It wouldn’t be the first time someone regrets a decision they made in their 20s later on in life

Yeah but it’s not that she just regrets the decision, she acts like she didn’t make it.

Nope. She does become a Witcher though.

i mean, it's not unheard of for young people to be duped into regrettable decisions by bad faith actors in which they regret once they learn the truth

Are they doing another Man from UNCLE?
Not to my knowledge, but they should because it was damned good.

The last one flopped pretty bad huh?
Made $107 million on a $75 million budget. Not a terrible flop, but definitely not enough to get a sequel green-lit

finished the season over the weekend. As a witcher game fan (never read the books but on my list) i fricking loved it!
Just looked up and saw already green lit for second season.

I think the ascension typically puts the witches to sleep before ripping their uterus out. At least thats what I got from it when she told him to frick the herbs.

She gave it up for "the brotherhood", only to find out they were kind of jerks. She was also quite young when she did it, and probably would have had severe issues trying to have a kid in her condition anyways.
Yennifer in the books and games isn't exactly a peach either, so throw in some self absorption and power hungry tendencies.

All scenes with Geralt/ Yennefor are in the past leading up to the sacking of Cintra. All of Ciri’s scenes are present time post sacking of Cintra.

I don't think she ever actually becomes a Witcher, she just gets the training.

They are basing this series off the books and not the game. Seems like some people will have a problem with this down the road.
I have not read the books or played the games. I liked the 1st season. I watched it over the weekend, I think it would have been better as a slow burn. That is not Netflix style.
Does anyone know if the books series is complete?

Yes, I'm sure someone knows this. Does that help?

I don't know how you slow burn the Witcher. Literally the entire series is about how this poor bastard, who everyone hates, kills monsters and is Destiny's plaything. Like even the books are constant go go go go go. The political intrigue is extremely slight compared to, say, GoT. Nilfgaard is generally bad, Skellig is chaotic neutral, and the other factions are just another kind of bad. Hell, Cintra wasn't exactly shy on treating their own citizens like garbage.
