I enjoyed the wire. It picks up at that end of the season.
But if you only watched the first 7 episodes of the wire or the first 7 episodes of the tlou, tlou would be far more entertaining.
Which is why its weird YOU brought the last of us into a thread about someone considering stopping the wire after 7 episodes

IMDB also ranks an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars higher than the To'hajiilee episode from Breaking Bad.

Lol how many total votes though?
You cant say the last of us rating is due to being some niche shite.

If you're 7 episodes in and feel that way, then most likely it's just not for you.
It's the best show of all time IMO, but obviously it can't be for everybody. Nothing wrong with that.
ETA: OP, just FYI but you share the same sentiment as Corinthians in this thread. So consider that as well.
I don't think I can love the Corinthians take on The Wire any more than I do when I read it just now. That is so fricking perfect.

The biggest 'badass' in the show is a fig
Versus
I’m going with Omar here.
Also, Stringer Bell is one of tGOAT character names of all time.

I’ve started the wire after all the praise it has gotten on this board. Idk if it’s me or the show, but I’m 7 episodes into the first season and I find it to be very boring and slow paced. Does it pick up any, or is that how the show is?
Plenty happens in the first seven episodes. It has some huge moments later but it doesn't really "pick up."

Because one of your knocks against The Wire was the big badass was a fig. Which is incredibly rich coming from you since you're normally for all things gay and white knighted for the non binary lesbo in TLOU, even defending her martial arts skills
Omar is one of the better TV characters ever. Regardless is your favorite show is The Wire and regardless of if he's straight or bi. That can't be argued. Omar is an incredible character. But by all means, continue to ironically white knight for a terrible gay character and hate on a great one. You're the one who looks like an idiot, not me.

Its called sarcasm. It was a rebuttal to your stance on the last of us

Yea, Omar is the freaking best.
Marlo is an incredibly underrated villain as well.

that is the pace. Out of curiosity how old are you?
I first tried to watch the wire in my early 20s and made it early into season 2 then quit because it was paaaaainfully slow. I tried again several years later and again made it into season 2 before quitting becuase it was just SSSOOOOOOO slow.
I tried one more time in my 30s and it hooked me. Idk what it is about being older but I found myself absolutely enthralled by the actual work aspect of it and watching how people do their actual jobs, it was fascinating.
But no, the pace doesn't pick up.

Your takes aren't original lol you and about 20 perennial posters repeat the same stance in every thread regardless of subject matter.

I liked season 1 a lot and was excited for season 2 but just kinda got boring to me. I think I’m on season 3 and feel like it’s taken 1.5 years to get that far.
My wife hates it so I’ve got to watch it after she falls asleep
