Its the new fashion wave for women, think capri pants. During the summer Hollywood stars were photographed wearing them and musicians sported them on stage, Miley for example and all of the fashion industry raked in the dough as girls went out to buy the new cool trend. During the winter they are now coming out with high hipped jeans though I haven't seen them yet, I hear they will be popular. Its basically just a scam to tell girls its hot so they go out and spend money. I guess the industry is trying to use Maxim to convince men it is also hot. Personally I think the style is disgusting and would make my gf change back into her low cuts if she ever came out wearing them.
