Right, obviously. But my point is that even with missing jaws and no arms they should've been trying to get her. Their sole motive is to feed. Remember the half-zombie in season one? She was in pieces (literally), but still trying to move around and feed because a walker's only instinct is to feed. They should never just randomly stand there like obedient pets.

I think it's dumb on both ends. At the very least rick should have told them about it but I also don't see why its such an act of betrayal by not telling them, it really isn't all that relevant until you die anyway.

Wait them out? They seem to have short attention spans, so as long as there's no blood and she remained still and quiet, they would eventually move on.
I don't know...they sure seemed to be pushing on that fence for a long time...started in daylight and ended at dusk...
Reminded me of the marching band in "Animal House". My wife, who never watches the show, saw that part and asked, "I know they don't have higher brain function, but how long are they gonna keep pushing on that fence?"

The walkers were basically chasing them from behind, then all of a sudden they were literally surrounded 360 degrees by walkers. I thought they only came from the woods area.
That's what I was getting at earlier. I think there's just thousands of them out there in the woods. All over the place. Its not like they were migrating straight to the farm. The creek bed was giving them some protection or other geographical features. But when that dried up and the real hordes got in close enough to hear that gun shot.... they just came from all over.

Well said. I just feel like each week this thread turns into a "what they should have done" topic. We need to just skip all the dumb things the characters do and all the things the producers get wrong and move on. Who honestly cares whether or not the shutgun needed to be reloaded or how the herd got to the farm?
Second guessing the characters is what makes the discussion interesting and fun IMO.
We all that them making all the right decisions would make for boring TV. It's the mistakes that make the plots and storylines. If they all were in am impenetrable fortress and just sitting around talking and farming, we'd be bored to tears.

Thought that too about the sudden surrounding of the heard. However, regardless STILL an amazing ending to the season.

I'm sure there'll be an explanation that I PRAY some spoiler doesn't give us til next season...

Meh. I guess. Its a cool thing for the show.
I would find enough agility and mileage in a Subaru, I guarantee you.

Rick made the right decision to not tell anyone for two reasons:
1. He didn't quite believe Jenner so why tell the group something potentially untrue?
2. He was trying to get the group to survive. How are you going preach hope to a group already on the brink of suicide if they are all going to be zombies when they die? It was a wise decision at the time.

Question that may have been asked before. Is it assumed that Randyll's group is located at the prison. It doesn't really add up to me because of what we know about the two guys in the bar and all. But Randyll told Shane his group was only like 5 miles away so it's making me think they were based at the prison.

Bingo.

So the number one defense of zombies is making noise to lead them away from you.
So question for all of you what's better?
A moat
OR
A system of underground tunnels that are sealed at the openings by steel locking mechanisms. (like a bomb shelter connected by tunnels)
Or a large sewer system may work out.. would allow for easy access to the city's grid system to get supplies..
Thoughts???

He alluded to it last night. He wants to find a place where they can feel safe and carve a life out for themselves. That's desperation and fantasy talk.
Their life is going to be warrior/nomad for the time being. Accepting that, will allow people to prepare for what they need to survive. He's still got too much Dale in him.
I don't see what telling them would have harmed, and I don't see why everyone is all up in arms about him not telling them. WTF difference does it really make? What would they have done differently? Ran off and killed themselves? Am I supposed to believe that they are only fighting to survive because they thought they had a chance of not become a zombie when they died?

No the group is quite obviously more than 5 miles away.
Rick stated he had been riding on empty for about an hour. So it is assumed they travelled at least 30-60 miles if they were driving for an hour.
Also if they were only 5 miles away I would assume Hershyl would know about the prison or other building in the surrounding area to hoard up in.

I think they've gone a lot further than 5 miles.
Iirc earlier in the thread there is a prison spoiler. Not to mention the "wait until you see what happens in the prison!" and calling it the "prison season"

I think the thing that bothered me the most was how the boyfriend of the emo daughter died. Why did he stop the RV? Why not just let Rick and Carl jump on top and then keep driving? Why the frick did he stop, and then try to get out when it was surrounded?
that was pretty stupid and why didn't he lock the door?

I like the idea of the prison, but with options for "mowing" the fence lines when they get congested with zombies. Obviously tunnel/sewer exits would be a plus, but I don't see those existing in a real prison.

Most ridiculous suggestion ever.
She would have been better off to keep running rather than trying to shoot them out.
You can only run so far before exhaustion sets in. At the end, Andrea was barely staying standing because she running on fumes as well as being out of ammo. Climb a tree and rest quietly or be eaten, those are the only two options in that situation.

It looked like the bottom half of the prison walls were stone or brick and not just chain link. I could be wrong though.

your comment made me think of something. my wife also does not watch the show and i don't know any women that do, and from what i gather this thread is a sausagefest, but wouldn't lori's character piss women off?
she really is the stereotype "bitches be crazy" character. i would think this would piss women off to be so erratic.
or was andrea's argument with lori in the kitchen kind of like the voice of women through andrea type thing?
