I agree it can drag but holy frick did you not get tired of "the farm" last season. Mindless supply runs , undeveloped antagonists, and house squatting seems pointless. Unless the entire show is about " escape" rather than survival.
I think its easier to sit and watch and make assault plans when you can see both sides but to think that in Ricks position you would just attack with some Pearl Harbor scheme is pretty short sided. Out manned, out gunned, doesnt know the area, seems like exploring all the options is a good decision.

So, is every episode going to end with a musical montage, now? I think that's 4 in a row.
Secondly, I agree with the prisoner/governor angle needing to end. I felt the same way when they were at Hershel's house. But, they've dragged this one way beyond.
I expect the final episode to have resolution with this story arc, a few characters die off, and the group is on the move again.

Why wouldn't they be looking for delivery trucks on the roads? They have to be loaded with food and water etc

They should go try to find that water delivery truck from season 2. I bet it's still pretty full.

This show is naturally frustrating. A show that's not supposed to be dialogue driven, sits around and talks for a hour. I'm sorry, it's a zombie apocalypse show, not fricking High Noon where two people square off with dueling pistols.
These short sighted skirmishes is rather ridiculous. It just doesn't make sense since it has nothing to do with structure, supplies or food.

The farm was boring.
However, I thought Shane was developed nicely. He was losing it and it was only made worse watching Rick take back his wife that Shane had been screwing.
Dale was interesting and some of the moral dilemmas were intriguing.
However, I do agree that the farm was stagnate, but as for what the show is intending to accomplish (character development in the midst of a zombie apocalypse), it was ten times better than this season. The only interesting character this season is Carl.
This show has SO much potential. The last two seasons have been hampered by being stuck in one location. The farm and now the prison. Get the characters moving, and you'll have one of the coolest TV shows in television history.
Last week's episode proves it. Finding some crazy arse with booby traps and loads of weaponry and the conversation with Rick plus Carl and Michonne's quest to retrieve a photo of Rick's family was great entertainment.

The whole guns/ammo/food/shelter/water thing I have let slide. Yes they would be huge obstacles for anyone in a ZA but spending TV time on these things would be incredibly boring IMO.
As much as we joke about moats, the second the show's focus becomes them building one, I am turning it off
We can get bits and pieces of how much of a challenge these things are but the focus cannot be here.
The farm was incredibly boring and a large part of that is bc it showed them trying to rebuild.

It might be a joke, but it's not far off.
I wouldn't be surprised if next week's episode is an hour of them preparing to go to Woodbery. Or an hour fortifying defenses with intermittent five minute conversations about what each character is feeling. Maybe a five minute rendition of Beth singing a lullaby to the baby in order to shove into the audience's throat that there is still innocence in the world despite zombies and one-eyed governors.

Seems logical to me. With all the wrecks and bottelnecks on the highways there should be some 18 wheelers loaded with canned goods also.

drives me insane that they haven't cleared out the prison yard yet.
1. fortify gate
2. load up in car
3. michonne rides shotgun with sword out window while driving around prison yard decapitating zombies
4. ???
5. profit
I think the battle won't be as epic as everyone thinks. Chop off the head (gov) and everyone surrenders pretty quickly from Woodbury.

I am all for that.
Or just lure them away from the prison.

Definitely. They know well enough how to systematically clear the prison and the yard, but watching them do it would get really old after a while.
There is also only so many times you can build tension by having them scavenge a neighborhood for supplies and clear houses. They only way to keep that interesting is by changing the pairings, like they did putting Carl and Michonne together.
If they would actively develop more characters, they would have more storylines flow out naturally, but they haven't done a great job of that.

And, it would be silly for Rick to kill the governor because he doesn't want to leave the prison, and then leave the prison. Something has to happen to make the prison uninhabitable. And, something has to happen to all of those "innocent" people.
Maybe the prison gets overrun, Rick kills the governor, and tells all those people "Sorry, you're on your own"?

, Rick's wanted to kill him for a few episodes now
yep. he had no problem dispatching the other inmates who he felt were about to betray them..why not kill the a-hole who tortured and nearly killed glenn and mind-fricked his girlfriend and also dropped a zombie bomb in the prison ruining the yard area so now they are stuck inside all the time?
that just doesnt make sense to me.
not wanting to leave the prison..makes perfect sense though. who wants to risk dealing with walkers on the road again? just find the weak links in the prison and lock/weld those doors closed until its secure.

Well, it would be interesting to see some casualties on both sides, leading up to a Rick victory and Gov. knocked off and Rick and the Prison crew contemplating a sort of "de-nazification" to see who they are willing to accept as part of their group (who would be on the road as the prison would have been rendered uninhabitable during the "war"). Will never happen of course.

So can we expect Andrea to be the saving grace of the prison, thus putting her back in good standing with Rick and co?

I think this is the most likely scenario at this point. Andrea is either dying or killing the gov.

The only reason the whole Governor/ Woodbury thing hasn't bothered me is because during a ZA or fight for survival is about 1 thing: Resources. If you have another group living near you and consuming resources that you need, you gotta take them out or get them to move on. The Governor and Rick both see this, which is why they will never agree to peace or to move on.

In a real world, you'd leave as soon as someone outside your group finds out where you are staying.

Althogh clearing the yard would be easy I don't know if it is the right time. They are a line of defense should the Gov decide to attack the prison.
