Aren't they basing the shows strictly off the comics or have there already been big differences?
It is following the timeline and locations of the comics.
Thats about it.

We might want to take any discussion of how the comics compare to the show to this thread (see Link) before someone says something someone else thinks they shouldn't have said.

Something that sort of stood out to me, was how Morgan approached Carl after Carl said "I'm sorry for.." and told him don't ever be sorry for anything.
I remember in the pilot he was the kind of guy who expected his son to apologize and correct himself after not saying a word right.

well obviously since he views losing his son as his fault, he was using carl as a substitute for his own son and what he'd say to him if he was still here.
good catch.

Not saying a word "correctly"... not "right".

If that is seen as a spoiler. I mean Jesus Christ.
Are the similar? No.

After a long drive I'be been Sitting in a hospital waiting room all day, I'm totally out of it. You get the picture.
..and I'm totally not sorry for anything. Ever.

i thought the same thing

i thought that at first but wouldnt he,being Morgan, have killed his wife finally after she ate his kid? Looked like her but zombies cant open doors and the cafe group was closed in.
final thought. not Morgans wife.

Manwich posted the clip 5 or 10 pages back: LINK
Definitely sounds to me like he says "It's wooden body armor.." That's what it sounded like at the time, and that's what it sounds like in that clip as well.
If I watch that clip listening for him to say "wooden body armor", I hear wooden armor. If I watch that clip listening for him to say "he's wearing body armor", I hear that.
I'll go with the logical choice..."he's wearing body armor" since it was clearly not made of wood.

how pissed is everyone going to be when the Season 3 cliffhanger is the beginning of the War with the Governor? It seems like they are building up, stalling, building up, stalling, etc. I can see the war not actually happening this season.
I really want the Governor and prison to be gone. Time for them to move on.

i'm not expecting much from that war. the human v human battle scenes have been awful. if Rick really wants to go HAM, he should round up a giant horde of zombies and let them loose in Woodbury.

I thought this was a great episode. You can go deeper onto a character if an episode doesn't feature EVERY SINGLE character. Michonne actually talked (and had a couple of funny parts) and Rick looks to be back to himself.
I also don't understand the hate Carl gets. For a 12 year old kid, he's pretty clutch. I also thought the editing and "feel" of the episode was more developed. Many previous episodes seem very plodding. Not this one.
That Hyundea bitchcar is becoming a character akin to Dale's RV. We're gonna hafta do a a tribute to the Hyundeay when she inevitably bites the dust.
Finally, we saw another great strategy/situation for when the SHTF. Walker traps/boobie traps are a great idea and Morgan was in a great position. 2nd floor in a brick, bulletproof building.
Gripes:
Hyeandia's aren't AWD?
Taking a pistol bullet to the Kevlar will hurt like Hell, but it won't knock you out for an hour.

Lori got a bit of vindication. Even badass Michonne can't keep track of Carl.

Yeah, I hated Carl before this season, but he doesn't bother me anymore.
If nothing else, he should get praised for being the one who killed Lori.

agreed. funny how they did more with michonne in 2 moments this week to humanize her than the entire season (the ugly art, and the "i used to talk to my dead boyfriend" scene.
also liked the moment in the episode before this one where she verbally bitch slapped Andrea
