The beginning of this episode was weak. Rick's decision to give up Michonne seemed both stupid and out of character. Then involving Merle was also a stupid decision. It seemed like another example of writers making characters do things to maneuver them where they want, instead of doing things real people would actually do.

I was kinda surprised that Michonne went back to the prison. I know story-wise, she needed to...but I feel like IRL she'd have been like frick these people. Especially once she found out that Rick had sold her out.

I feel the last few episodes have been great. Very character driven. Also, I might be the only one who wants a few more episodes to get into the heads of a few more characters before a great battle between the two camps.

What is going to happen after the fight with all of the random citizens of woodbury? There will be plenty of bloodshed, but it all seems a waste. I seems both camps could be self sufficient and carry on without hot headed and demented leadership. But that may be the point. The rules have changed.

I just wanna know how this fight is gonna go down, since the sneak preview just blew all of my ideas out the water.

Merle did tell her that he was doing all that without being directly ordered to by Rick. He said something along the lines of "he would never go through with it".

Also, if I were Michonne, I'd go back to being on my own. She knows a war is about to go down, and she knows the firepower the Governor has.

Lots of discussion back then about that. I'm in the camp of the zombie wasn't using the rock as a tool, but rather happened to have it in his hand.

Yes. I remember that. With this type of show you will always get a lot of back and forth about internal inconsistencies and questions like exactly what zombies can and can't do.

And for all the people now saying the first seasons were so much better, I seem to remember there were a good bit of negative feedback for those episodes as well.

As far as people wanting more dangerous zombies, that's all well and good but at some point we'd be left with no one from the beginning of the show. Heck, watching the early episodes, there has been a good deal of attrition from the original Atlanta crew. Shane. Lori. Andrea's sister. Jim. Dale. T-Dawg. Carol's husband. Carol's daughter. The lady who stayed in the Disease center as it went boom. The Mexican family (granted they left and are not dead that we know of). Merle. Even Morgan's son got bit (by his zombie mom no less).

I think you have to keep some people around while you introduce others for the audience to get to know well enough to have an emotional stake in.

Yeah, even if she thought Rick wouldn't go through with it, it would be pretty tough to trust someone who seriously entertained the idea of giving you over to a sadist like the Governor. And it isn't like she has really formed bonds with any of them.

But they've almost gone out of their way to neuter them. The stair well escape in the Andrea running from the Governor episode is the perfect example. She could have quietly opened the door, seen the zombies and left without them noticing, but they made a point to show that the zombies did see her and then ignored her, almost like they didn't believe she could be real There have been lots incidents like that where they could make the zombies less threatening through the situation and actions of the main characters rather than by making the zombies themselves less of a threat.

By her actions and (few) words it seems she has come to a similar conclusion that Daryl did. "You can't do it alone anymore. You need people." I believe in her own way she's trying to bond with them. Enough to obviously cut Rick some slack with a tough decision.

I think she ultimately understands why Rick contemplated it. He has a kid and Shane's baby to protect.

Finally watched this last night. IMO, Rick and crew should've used Merle and Michonne to launch a sneak attack against the Governor. They could've went and taken Woodbury while the Governor and crew were taking Merle and Michonne.

Watching the reply and Lori has been a bitch the whole way through.

And I don't even remember the guy with the vest talking to Rick and Shane over a map. Must not have lasted long.
