i have a feeling we have a whole new cast by next season.
I'm thinking just the opposite, with a few exceptions. I'm hoping the Governor dies just to move it along but I wouldn't be shocked if he survives this somehow. If he does die, my money is on Milton doing it.
I also believe Herschel and Glenn die. It was just an odd scene with the whole engagement. Most of Woodbury will die. Milton becomes a regular part of Rick's democracy.
Carl will do something to get Tyrese back on Rick's side, like killing the white dude and his son (if he's not dead already) who are about to kill Tyrese, and they'll finish off the Governor's goons.
I just hope the Woodbury vs. Prison story line ends Sunday.

I got dibs on Maggie if Glenn bites it.

Now that last night's episode is over, I can talk about something that had been on my mind for a while.
I always chuckled when people would pose theories on the certain ways Merle would die. Like some ridiculous ones were, "Merle is going to die saving ____" or "Daryl is going to have to make a choice to kill Merle" (which technically is true, but let's not get caught up on technicalities).
That was not Merle's character. Granted he went out with some symbolance of heroism, but like I said, the previous scenarios were not in Merle's character at all. The dude was never going to jump in front of a bullet saving somebody like Hershel, and Daryl was never going to point a weapon at (living) Merle's head with intent to kill. These sceanrios were just so silly and foolish. He was a survivor who was set in his ways, and nothing was going to change that.

Who finally takes out the Gov? Right now I'm leaning towards Michone but they could let Tyrese do it to fully establish him as a part of the group.
The Gov has to die before this season is over for the good of the show, imo. The Woodbury vs Prison storyline needs to come to a close.
I wouldn't mind Tyrese killing the Gov to show that he is valuable to Rick, but ever since he has shown up, he has been very subdued and not the badass he is capable of being.
On the contrary of that, I think it would be best for the Gov to be killed by one of the established characters (Rick or Daryl). Especially Daryl, since he has got to know the Gov killed Merle and that will give him revenge.

Merle actually did something more heroic than jumping in front of a bullet to save one person. He went into a fight he couldn't win trying to save the entire group.

The beauty of this show is that pretty much all of the main characters are in danger of getting killed off at any point so I feel like anyone besides Rick, Daryl, and Carl could be killed next episode.

Merle killed the guy's son while trying to kill the Gov last episode, but I agree that Tyrese will end up with Rick's group.

Me too. One thing I thought about, though, was Rick talking about staying to fight or just leaving. The Gov might end up raiding an empty prison next episode.
I think there will be a fight, but it could start with an empty prison where Rick and co end up flanking the Gov's forces. I mean it would be stupid of Rick not to have some sort of misdirection or traps since they have home field advantage.
Either way, I think Rick's group is going to be on the road again by season's end and it will pick up again instead of bogging down like we saw with the farm and prison story lines.

On TTD, Michael, the actor portraying Merle said it wasn't a suicide mission. That he intended on getting in and getting out alive. Of course, that was his interpretation of his character I suppose.

I tend to agree with this line of thinking, although it was a rather half-baked plan.

Anybody saying this episode went against Merle's character missed the coolest line if the night where he said "hell I'm a mystery to myself most of the time".

Anybody else watching the pilot on AMC right now? Good times.

Well he didn't really know that the Gov. was going to have a small army there. He may have been thinking it would just be the Gov., Milton, and Martinez just like the last meeting.

yeah, I just watched it too. one thing I noticed was that none of the walkers had "walker eyes", but when Merle died this past week, his eyes changed pretty much instantly.

Episode was pretty good. Just disappointed they didn't show any scenes of Andrea getting tortured considering that is what all the previous episode was about and ended with her strapped and bound in the chair.
