The Snowman (2017; Michael Fassbender) is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I give this movie more weight when saying it is one of the worst because of the notable cast of Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, and JK Simmons.
I could only get through about half of it before I turned it off. This should have been an easy movie to make. The book wasn't complex. It was a good murder-mystery read. How some filmmakers can screw up an easy, formulaic story is incredible.

Reviews were so bad, I never even thought of watching this one. And from some reviewers that are usually pretty easy on movies so it had to be really really bad.

I made it a little past halfway. It was awful.

I'm gonna watch it because I freaking LOVED the book...but I don't have high expectations based on all the bad reviews.
Of course, The Counselor had awful reviews and I loved it. We'll see.
But The Snowman novel was fantastic. Highly recommend reading it.

i watched this a few months ago not realizing it had such bad reviews and i didn't think it was THAT bad. admittedly, i wasn't really watching critically (it was just another random Redbox rental)
Val Kilmer made me feel uncomfortable, though

I watched it about a month ago, and it was by far the worst movie I’ve seen in quite some time. There was no context to tell you why some of the characters are what they are, the plot meanders, and it was boring as all hell.

We saw it in the theater because, well, Fassbender, and an interesting trailer. Probably our biggest letdown in a theater that year.
I sincerely think that Kilmer's part was added after primary shooting was wrapped. Not sure why they felt the need to shoehorn him in, but his role just seemed like a bizarre tacked-on mess.

I think I remember reading where the director said the studio ruined it and he had to cut a lot of stuff out, giving it that bizarre feel

He wasn't even finished shooting it when the studio forced him into post.

1. That sounds like an easy excuse. Maybe his extra footage was shite
2.Not the smartest thing to say publicly if he wants to work in Hollywood again

Whenever this was first announced i was pumped because of the cast and Alfredson had directed Tinker Taylor & Let the Right One In. Shocked at the final result.
Even the promo was terrible, this legit looks like a fricking joke....

Gf and I rented it from Redbox. We joked about sending customer service an email demanding they pay us for watching it.

doing some quick research, they didnt let him finish shooting 15% of the script, which is why there are so many gaps.
im not trying to say hes faultless (I havent seen the movie) but it sounds like the studio really botched it. Alfredson had 2 good movies prior to this.

Good! maybe it will be a solid Directors Cut eventually

Was it just me, or was his voice (very poorly) dubbed?

Nope. Not an editing problem. They didn't finish shooting the film.

Watched it last night, not that good. Had great potential. Reading this thread I see why it had its short comings.
