Why? Was the character tiny in the comics?

I think she was. She looked enough like a child that the child rapist dude wanted to rape her, thinking she was a child.

Thanks. That gave me enough info for a decent search. Fun Land is a creepy character. Unless he is REALLY tall, she looks pretty tiny.

Well she wouldn’t be very deceiving if she came off as malicious but it was clear the competition was a set up.

whoever the two fricks who downvoted Matt Ryan being the best John Constatine earlier is this thread are ball suckers.

Regardless, through 5 episodes...I like the series. Pretty good.

episode 5 is so fricking nuts

The fight between Lucifer and Dream was dumb af too. I mean who doesn't just expect "Hope" to be the end-all? So cliche. They basically just played a rock paper scissors and both were cheating. "Oh yeah, meteor beats rock!"

I haven’t read the source material, but I have to agree with this. One of the cheesiest “fights” I’ve ever seen. Why not just start with hope or the heat death of the universe?

That scene did not cross over to TV well. I listened to it on audible, so I didn't read it and have the visuals with it, but it was decent just listening to it. Also, he actually battled the other guy in hell that had his helm. I thought it was a mistake having the fight versus Lucifer. Why would a person in hell get to choose the devil as his champion? That's like some colosseum warrior choosing the king as his champion. That's not it works.

Dream was at a weakened state at that point, so it was actually a struggle for him to beat a regular guy/demon. Not sure why they had him beat Lucifer. That just weakens her character. I mean if Dream can beat you at %50, then he can beat you with whatever you're bringing next.

I enjoyed the series, but that was a weak scene.

I think The idea is that he could beat her within the confines of that challenge. It wasn’t like she just attacked him.

It is a challenge that would favor Dream as it involves creativity

Gwendoyn Christie is the biggest name on the series. She is a big fan of the graphic novel and wanted to do that scene, so Gaiman made it happen for her.

while I enjoy that movie. He is NOT what they have envisioned in the comics. Matt Ryan is the absolute 100% closest comic rendition of John Constantine that any show/movie will come close to.

I think the scene makes some sense given Lucifer's biggest sin was pride, which is ultimately why she wound up losing that fight. She knew he was in a weakened State and thought it would be easy...even figured her last comment was going to defeat him...but alas, she forget about Jesus...I mean hope.

I didn't mind that scene at all.

I mean I know why he won. I'm just saying, like others, that it's a weak scene. I think it could have been better if they stayed the way the comics did it, but it wasn't going to transfer to TV well regardless.

If I'm not hooked after episode 1 is it still worth watching? Just didn't find it interesting.

Started watching and thought, finally, a pretty good show without a social agenda. About five minutes later it got gay. So tired of this bs.

I feel like it fell off after episode 6/once the vortex was introduced.

From the hospital escape to the ruby being destroyed was my favorite part of the saga.

Well you can at least feel safe in your space knowing this agenda began in 1989 with the original comics.

Overall I liked it, but the season felt very disjointed. The different story lines just didn’t flow well together. I don’t know if they needed more episodes to connect them but by the time you got to the end what happened at the beginning in the first several episodes felt like an afterthought more than the beginning.
