So just checking in… we are all aware that Robby is going to attempt to off himself, right? The whole sabbatical is his plan to end it all. Didn’t hit me until this last episode when he asked Whitaker to not only watch his place but maybe even inherit it should something happen.

That would be a bold twist. And then Langdon saves his life.

Dana’s forced season 2 accent and only talking though bottom lip is killing me. Hard to watch her anymore.

I told my wife that Dana’s accent was more exaggerated this year and she told me she remembers it sounding like it does now. Glad to see I’m not going crazy…. Her on the other hand

They’ve been telegraphing relentlessly about wearing helmets and how dangerous motorcycles are

I see your theory and raise you:

They shot two endings, one in case Netflix bought HBO and Robby lives.

The other, Paramount buys HBO and Robby goes out like Jax did on Sons of Anarchy.

Much less motivation to watch if Dr Robbie is out.

Would be a crazy cliffhanger to end the season on of Robbie injured and Langdon and the crew having to save him leaving his fate in jeopardy

I don’t see how they could do it. We’re nine hours in the shift, he’s not leaving early.

Shirley they wouldn’t just have him walk out the door, hop on his bike, and get hit by an ambulance right away.

“Bye Robby, have a good trip!”

VROOM SMASH

“Oh shite, get a crash cart!”

I’d hope the writers are better than that.

Something is definitely going to happen to
Robby and his Sabbatical. He mentions it 10 times an episode.

Maybe he gets injured. Or maybe he goes off and disappears on his trip.

Or, maybe there's some big crisis at the pitt that compels him to stay and help.

And there has to be a Langdon element to the whole thing.

I didn't really believe the Robby thing but someone did point out from what he told the brother and sister with the dying father last season, the Hawaiian ritual thing, about saying "I love you, thank you, I forgive you, and please forgive me."

In the last episode Robby told Abbott that he loves him, and he told Whitaker thank you. Langdon is an obvious candidate for Robby forgiving, and the please forgive me could be any number of people.

I still think it's a red herring and something will happen that keeps Robby from going on that trip, but interesting regardless.

Agreed. I don't think that's in character with what we've seen of him so far (panic attacks notwithstanding). He's got some PTSD and issues, but nothing really screams depression or self-harm about his character.

I DO like the theory that some floated about his riding buddy who was, briefly, alluded to early in the season getting in an accident and being seen at the hospital. Robby then breaks down into panic attack mode, and Langdon has to save the friend (looking it up, he's described as Robby's "mechanic friend, Duke."). But they probably should have made a few more references to Duke if they're going that route. They've also already had a motorcyle accident victim in the ER this season, so that would be a little repetitive.

Yea it would be way too on the nose if he gets in a motorcycle accident. Like a 18 year old writing the story bad. Way too many hints and actual visuals of motorcycle accidents and every single person in the hospital telling him not to do it. Like you say, it's already getting old. Would be pretty lame.

Solid episode again

Everyone’s getting kinda cranky it seems

Robby definitely was a dick to Mohan, it was pretty clear she was having a horrible panic attack

Mel realizing her sister was having sex was a plot twist

Langdon/Santos was super tense

Whitaker taking charge and doing a good job, he’s really blossomed into a competent doc . Glad he’s found his groove

Well I guess we’re getting the ICE episode next week after all

Stand by my theory that Robby is not in a good place mentally. Short fuse and typing up lose ends; indicators have been indicating something this season. But then nobody is in a good place. Santos is being a capital c C*nt. Waiting to find out that Mohan’s mom is dead or dying or something tragic. Javadi is going to lose it on her mom in front of everyone. Ogilvy makes an actual human connection with someone and dude crashes.

Watching the mom die of cancer has been particularly rough these past few episodes.

Yeah the ICE episode is gonna draw quite a discussion for all the recap shows

Ready for the cancer mom to be done so McKay can get out there and get really back to work.

Even Mel is fraying at the edges after her deposition it seems

The heat is really getting to everyone

It’s kind of funny to see all things biker culture hating, prim and proper Jacob Hale from Sons of Anarchy now playing a long haired, greasy biker
