Her mother worked two jobs, her father wasn’t in the picture, and Santos spent most afternoons helping raise younger siblings, juggling homework, and trying to keep the lights on. She learned early that if she didn’t fight for herself, no one else would.
In high school she had real potential — teachers saw it, mentors tried — but every time she got close to something good, life pulled her back. A scholarship she couldn’t accept because she had to stay home. A job she lost because she had no one to watch the kids. A dream she shelved because survival came first.
By the time she reached adulthood, she’d built this armor: sharp humor, stubborn pride, and a habit of pushing people away before they could disappoint her. It wasn’t malice — it was muscle memory.
So, when she acts tough, or guarded, or a little too quick to assume the worst, it’s not because she’s cold. It’s because she’s been carrying the weight of responsibility her whole life, and she never learned how to put it down.

Actually med students like him are becoming less common as admissions committees move away from GPAs and scores. They want diversity and "a good life story" now.
Now you're getting more of "interesting people" that can't actually think critically or aren't cut out for practicing medicine. Not sure which one is worse.

They say they are and I’m sure they make exceptions for some people. But the average MCAT scores and GPAs keep creeping up
For example 10 years the average MCAT score of accepted applicants was around 508. Now it’s 512. GPA was 3.7. Now it’s 3.83
Doesn’t seem like a massive jump but like I said it keeps going up. Also if you make a 514+ there’s an 85% chance of getting in. Scores absolutely still matter

Ogilvy sucks. But, having to bring in an animal scale to weigh a patient is kind of funny.
King needs more screen time.
Dana is by far my favorite. Knows her shite and had great bedside manner with the assault victim.
Robby mentions his sabbatical way too often. Something will obviously happen to derail that. Another mass casualty event, one of their own needing his life saving experience or some other unforeseen circumstance.
Why didn't they just let the photo memory chick write the stuff on the board instead of dictating?
The fax machine and the old phone were a nice touch.

Incorrect. Most hospitals use the virtual translators like they showed on the show. They usually work great. It's much to pricy to actually hire someone to do translation. Now there are sometimes employees that take the translator tests and can be used as official translators, but remember, they have other jobs they are doing and can't just be pulled away to translate. Video translators are pretty much the standard.

She's great. But I'd be lying if I said her accent didn't get on my nerves. But doesn't take away from her character, just a minor complaint. After the credits i was surprised to hear her talk normal. After the credits stuff on every show is always a little odd when you realize that like 75% of every cast is actually British actors
Not sure who I'd say my favorite character is. Maybe Huckleberry.
