Santos took the blade a couple episodes ago. They have to circle back to that I’d think? Or just want you to know she’s still cutting since they showed the scars earlier?
They just want you to know she's cutting and maybe see that she's not in a great mental space. I believe that blade was a disposable and would never be missed, although still stealing and Whitaker saw her.

Agree with this, except I know multiple hospitals that have had cyber attacks. Things I hear about...the man that was loading cows and got messed up with the trailer and the cow...the homeless person that was high (there are TONS of these) and fell off a 10 foot retaining wall, the illegal that was hurt at work badly, the woman (true story) arrested at the hospital because she wrecked her car (high?) and killed one of her kids and put the other in the hospital. These stories happen every single day at a big trauma center. I've said it lots, but illegals and homeless are a disproportionate share of patients as are the very poor. The man having trouble getting dialysis...100% normal. There are actually homeless who use the ER as their dialysis provider. They can't be turned away. What y'all see as woke or crazy wanders into trauma centers every day all over the USA. For those that think the demographic of the criminals, homeless, and crazy at The Pitt is too white...look at the demographics of their city.
My brother is an OB/GYN in Ft. Worth. His primary hospital is John Peter Smith, which is the Tarrant County public hospital. All the indigents go there for care. He does ER duty a couple of times a month. Maybe even more frequently. He has told me that the vast majority of the people he treats are low-income Hispanics, most of whom do not have insurance.

I don't think Langdon will relapse, at least not this season.
They definitely have set it up to keep us guessing.
He was clearly told to play it walking out of the bathroom like he was high and then go do some hero stuff.

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but is the homeless dude Skinny Pete from Breaking Bad?
I don't know about that, but my wife pointed out to me that the actress who plays Mel (Taylor Dearden) is Bryan Cranston's daughter.

It makes no sense to me why night shift has 2 attendings (abbott and asian guy) but day shift only has 1.
I'm sure it varies from place to place, but it is possible that an inner city trauma center might be more busy at night than during the day (on average).

My wife says Langdon is going to fail his urine test because he stole frickleberry’s badge to order drugs.
I'm pretty sure he took something that he shouldn't have, but I also think he'll figure out a way to falsify the test so that he shows clean.

On the show itself they currently have a legal citizen detained with no contact with his family or employer, not letting them know his status.
If I'm not mistaken, they said it was a holiday "weekend", which could mean that July 4th fell on a Friday, and it was going to take 72 hours before a judge was available to issue a release order.

I don't hate the Whitaker scene. Remember, it's been a year and he has shown himself to be a really good doctor. He just handled the shite with Ogilvie. I think he was feeling like, I just that student's issue, and just spoke to why I love emergency medicine and it doesn't get to me, at least yet. I think it's just him growing up a little and finally standing up for himself.
Whitaker is def on the track to be the next Robby so it makes sense as he grows as a doctor and gets more confidence he will change.
I hate when people say shite like “that’s out of character for him” not only because we spent 1 season with him (and he wasn’t even the main focus and we only get snippets of who he actually is outside of the Pitt) but it also makes it to where none of the characters can experience growth and remain stagnant when WE change all the time and that process is probably expedited by being in an Emergency Room 12 hours a day.
He’s not pulling out coke and snorting it in the bathroom. THAT would be something hard to justify for his character, but that scene was fine. Whitaker is growing and is also probably there to kind of remind Robby of himself and how he USED to be, a better protege than Langdon.

I also have a bad feeling that Robby is kind of a red herring for the suicide stuff and will come out the other side while someone else, maybe Santos, might actually try to commit suicide

Fingers crossed. I kid I kid. But not really, I really want her gone.
This has been an enjoyable seasons and it's appointment television for me, I am watching every Thursday, but this season is significantly worse/less enjoyable than S1. Mainly because of how different Robby is. Robby's attitude, demeanor, how he dealt with other doctors was part of what made season one great, you take everything good about him away and make him a miserable, suicidal, jerk and you lessen the show.
It is what it is, but hopefully it's back to old Robby in season three. I'm assuming he doesn't kill himself.

Agreed. I almost wouldn’t mind them focusing more on Abbot.
And I know the basis of the show has been focusing on one shift at a time for an entire season but I think they’re going to find it increasingly difficult to maintain the momentum given how limiting that can be for the writers and showrunners. They’re going to have to pivot eventually. Like others have said the first season was great and the entire shift was a fantastic idea but it was still kind of carried by the mass shooting event which this season doesn’t have. Still good, but not as good.
I could see this show becoming like The Bear. Absolute KILLER first two seasons and then a hard drop off.

quote:It's almost an accelerated version of John Carter's story arc on ER. Although Dr. Robby was stressed to a new limit last season, but it's still your favorite character going from the top of his game to the bottom.

Yeah, that never made sense to me, either.

They need new defense counsel if the lawyers let the plaintiff schedule and take a depo during a doc’s ER shift.

Robby's biker friend Luke was the leader of the "Claimed" gang in TWD.

That's where I'm at as well. There were hints of Robby doing something early in the season, but I think it's too obvious at this point. I guess we don't know if he's signed a deal for season 3? Could just be an ambiguous ending.
