contrary to popular belief, on this forum anyway, Friends is at the top as well. i'll concede that's it's not above Seinfeld, but it's up there WITH the others.

i've seen the series through a few times, and i don't recall a single bad season. maybe an episode here or there that missed, but overall it's a high quality series.

This. Utter crap- I'm assuming it's a Chuck Lorre show? The jokes are definitely in that vein.

TBBT was great early on. The ladies screwed up the show. Amy went from female Sheldon to annoying whiner. Bernadette went from cute, dingy scientist to psycho. Penny's growth was the only one that made any sense, but she was written in a very schizo way where she was an idiot one second, and wise the next.

The Amy and Sheldon dynamic was the worst in later seasons. Sheldon has a robot moment. Amy gets whiny and emotional and teaches him a life lesson. Sheldon has a breakthrough and still continues to be a dick. Rinse and repeat.

The Office was well on its way to capturing this feeling, then Michael Scott left. After that, the show was hollow and just nowhere near what it was with him.

Modern Family is another great one, Phil is one of my favorite sitcom characters.

King of Queens is one of my favorite sitcoms but the finale kind of sucks. They getting a divorce but still adopting a Chinese baby was an strange ending.

This is probably nostalgia speaking but my grandfather's favorite show was the Andy Griffith Show and he had a box set that I watched beginning to end and I think I enjoyed every single episode. So that is my vote.

I think it qualifies as a situational comedy.
