Liked The Force Awakens better but Rogue One was still good movie. Ending scene was badass. Vader's short scene of badassery was a tease though. We need one of these movies dedicated to Vader's story after episode 3 with a whole lot more Vader lightsaber battles with modern CGI
Pretty much how I feel. I liked it a lot but for some reason I don't have the desire to rewatch again like I do most of the other Star Wars flicks. Wasn't a fun Star Wars movie I don't think. It was a grim tale and I liked that aspect.

I think Grand Moff Tarkin is snoke. Amazing chi restoration.

They better use Vader as much as they can before James Earl Jones dies. Even I thought the voice was a little off but that character dies with him.
Tarkin looked fine, Leia was a little weird.
The acting from Luna and Jones was bad. Force priest and his friend were the only characters I really cared about but you had to know before the movie that they were all gonna die.
They better figure out what they're gonna do with these anthology movies because as of now all the ideas for them are related really closely to the original trilogy and it's gonna get old quick.

I liked it. I do find Firce Awakens to be the superior film for several reasons but this was good. I don't think they made the movie they should have. We got glimpses of it but I'd love to see the deeper intricacies of the rebel intelligence and the craziness that entails.

Outstanding
Let's give some credit for them stepping out the box on this one. The full potential of Star Wars still hasn't been reached yet and I think we all know this. We were missing the great light saber battles of the past in Rogue One but it's the grittest episode we have seen yet. This was a great Segway into "A New Hope". The background and detail that went into "Rogue One" was incredible, Bravo!. Moreover, it's one of the best storylines (if not the best) we have seen. Lucas might be the most overrated film maker of all time after watching the last 2 beat him every which way.
I thought " everyone dying" was fitting in Rogue One and Vader laying wood was intense. The big question we thought would get answered was "who is Rey's parents"? Hopefully the payoff will be worth it.
8.8 is my score

When I got back to this hotel room, they had episode 3 on. Watching Sam Jackson and Hayden...it Make me like it even more.
I enjoyed the vader sequence at the end. Just tearing arse through the crew. I'm still impressed by the cgi of the original cast. I tripped out seeing a dude that died in 1994 be brought back to the story.
I liked it more than TFA by about 10%. It's the original trilogy and then this one just a little but more than tfa imo. Would watch again.
As I lay here at 3 30am I'm trying to think about what would be a good side story. Perhaps Boba escaped lol

I watched it a second time today with my daughter. I liked it even more this time around. The combat scenes are just epic. Vader at the end with the lead-in to part 4. Still think its stupid that there was no Palpatine appearance, but the modern day combat in a galaxy far far away is a winner in my book.

Forest Whitaker was a cheesy character.
So bad, and so unnecessary. You can take him out and it doesn't affect the movie at all. I hated this character.

I agree and thought Vader's voice in certain lines seemed off. Other lines it was like old times though.
If they can digitally recreate a person then maybe they can digitally recreate his voice. Because NO ONE will be Darth Vader, only James Earl Jones

They were honestly well done. I couldn't tell the difference at all as they looked so damn real to me.
lolno
I thought in the very first scene how bad it looked and every thereafter was the same.
Leia wasn't noticeable to me though

I absolutely loved this movie and can't wait to see it again!

Seems to me everyone who's said this, it was because they were looking for it to be bad. You assumed it would be bad so you studied it when Tarkin was on screen instead of just watching the movie like he was any other character. I thought it was really well done. Is it prefect? No, but it's CGI, why would you expect it to be?

The Darth Vader scene was worth price of admission alone.

Saw it last night. I really enjoyed it a lot. Some of my formative years were spent playing the X-Wing games, so just seeing a new space battle with Original trilogy tech was enough to make me geek out.
The movie isn't perfect, of course, but nothing really stood out as just awful. Vader was amazing at the end, I really enjoyed most of the characters, and the plot actually flowed well I thought. I liked how they made the exhaust port flaw intentional sabotage rather than Imperial incompetence.
I'll probably go see it again before Christmas.

Dude... the original Star Wars movie had a run time of 121 minutes. You're defending a movie with 12 more minutes of fluff than one of the greatest character-driven action movies of all time. That introduced about SEVEN iconic characters that were household names within a year of release. Come on, man.

Were those ATATs prototypes? They were destroyed with ease.
I believe they're AT-ACTs, with the "C" standing for Cargo. They're wide open in the middle/behind the yellow doors to carry payloads, not troops, which is why they weren't as sturdy or heavily armed as ESB.

Saw it last night, the last 30 minutes had me grinning the whole time. I saw ESB (may have been 10 or 11)at the theaters and seeing the AT-ATs or AT-ACTs, was like seeing them again as kid for the 1st time. Vader scene was amazing with the force push scenes. Leia actress didn't bother me, but watching Moff Tarkin as a digital Peter Cushing was a little tough.

Seems to me like you're just making shite up
I'm not a Star Wars fanboy, I didn't realize tarkin was cgi and had no idea or assumptions as to the movie going in.
I saw something that obviously looked off and thought it looked like shite. Googled after leaving to verify

I thought Tarkin looked great.
Leia seemed a little off, but it didn't bother me at all.
