Mindy Kaling is the epitome of everything that is wrong with the entertainment industry.

"Diversity Day" isn't shown anymore, either.

definitely not on a network like NBC
Diversity Day episode would have to be altered slightly for sure

I saw that one a week ago on CC

Yes it could
Aren’t they still making Always Sunny in Philadelphia?
Yes and playing The Office constantly in reruns. Its a stupid statement.

It must be back then because they did remove it from rotation.

People say this about everything these days. "It couldn't be made today!". Sure it could. People have always been offended by things since the dawn of time. The only thing that's changed is social media. It's given a voice to the masses and people want to offend or be offended for Likes and Subscribes. Ten years from now People will look back on something today and say "you can make that today" LOL It's so played out.

The Office” just couldn’t be made today. Why? “That show is so inappropriate now,” Kaling said.
Hmm? I don't remember The Office being filmed 50 years ago.
Man how time flies.
IT WAS 10 YEARS AGO MAN! We devolve pretty quickly in today's society.

honestly what offends people has changed so much now
She lives in such a bubble that she believes this. The reality is that the only thing that changed was those that are in her bubble...and she just assumes it's representative of everyone.

No they haven't. They are attempting to be changed by creators who don't like things from 15 minutes ago...missing the fact that 15 minutes from now the stuff they create will be tossed into the shitter by woker dickheads than themselves.
All the while people stop consuming their "adapted for modern audiences" crap.

Michael was Archie Bunker if Archie thought he had the social compassion of Michael (Meathead) Stivic.
I think you're close here, but I don't think anyone ever really sided with Michael Scott. He was always seen as awkward and inappropriate. So much so that I remember arguing with people at first because they didn't find his character "funny" because his jokes didn't land in the traditional way...because that was the point.
Archie on the other hand was clearly the villain of the show, but Carol O'Connor played him so well that most older Americans tended to side with him, despite the show blatantly trying to make him the heel. A closer comparison to Archie I think would be Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock, who like Archie was played by a flaming Liberal, but played so convincingly that he ended up being the most likeable character in the show.

Newsflash, episodes of both shows have been "cancelled" in syndication.

I’ve bought the box set due to knowing some episodes would be edited/cancelled.
Making certain episodes only available for purchase is genius marketing.

The Writers themselves have changed and would not have the balls to do it, and would censor themselves.
I think this is more the issue, honestly. It would definitely have an audience, and it's not like it's THAT old. It's not like you're saying "Archie Bunker would be difficult to write today."
Literally any horrible thing Michael Scott's character says is due to his complete and utter obliviousness - hell, it's probably the ONLY way to write a character that constantly says stuff like he does.
Also, Asian Jim is funny now and I doubt anyone would call it racist unless they're just looking for reasons to cry "racist" - and you're gonna get that no matter what you write.

The Office could be made today. Pussies just have to be beaten back.

There’s a difference in showing reruns and the huge financial undertaking of producing a new show. No way a network green lights this show in the current climate if they’re looking at scripts for the first 6 episodes.

Hilarious line of his was when Salma Hayek was on the show and said she was Puerto Rican and he says "Oohh, are we sill calling them that?" like Puerto Rican was a derogatory term
