Face value alone the Odyssey was always more compelling for sales than a character driven narrative like Oppenheimer.

You know exactly what this is from the casting and interviews, so no I don’t think he’s earned our money sight unseen on this one
The casting is somewhat head-scratching and the dialogue is very jarring considering when this film is set, but what politics are you referring to?

Yes, the Astroturfing of course would extend to message boards as well. They did the same thing with tom holland, using historians to convince the public that it isn’t as bad as it seems.

Saw two different early tracking numbers. One had it at $80-100mil opening, the other $85-135 which isn’t great but Nolan movies typically have legs so hard to predict the total at this point. Probably have to wait until week 2 to get a real idea of how it’ll do.

I really think folks will not go see it the way they didn’t go see supergirl. Vote with your wallet. It’s vital to tailor entertainment to what people actually find entertaining.
