I think the nitty professor is hilarious and the scenes with the lumps steal the show but for some reason I can't help but think this is pandering to the lowest common denominator such as madea/Tyler perry who I hate.

What say you?

It laid the foundation for Madea.
A Conversation with Tyler Perry
quote:

Where did the idea for Madea come from? Is she based on real individuals? Several years ago I saw Martin Lawrence in Big Momma's House and Eddie Murphy in The Klumps, the sequel to The Nutty Professor. At the time I was doing an old-man character and decided I wanted to do an elderly female character as well. That's where the idea was born. I based Madea on my mother and my aunt. In fact Madea is the PG version of my mother and my aunt. Their real ratings would be NC-17.

The Nutty Professor is actually funny and appeals to white people so those are some major differences.

Check out this trailer for

"Giant Black Lady, Who is Really a Black Man in a Really Big Fat Suit"

coming this fall.

Promises to be the second best far suit movie in the last four months.

Nutty Professor was funny. I can't bring myself to watch any Madea movies.

Really? Black dudes have been dressing like old black women for decades. And he suddenly gets an epiphany that simple black people laugh at that shite when he watched Big Mommas house?

I'm pretty sure that Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence don't have drag queen parties at their house all the time...

You can also compare Michael Jordan to Mario Chalmers too, if you try hard enough.
