That’s a vapid female fantasy to the T boss.

I’ve always felt bad for Cyclops in The Notebook. Jean left him for Logan too.

I actually rewatched it a couple of weeks ago and one thing stuck out to me. Obviously it worked for Gosling and McAdams, but these super duper mega stars were so desperate to "make it" they sat in a boat in fake rain and fake laughed maniacally because some guy said action and said this is what being madly in love is. Doubled over laughing at the rain while you sit in a jon boat. I'm a movie and TV nerd but you have to remind yourself behind the glitz and glamour most actors are wind up toy dogs that will do anything to get the part and the fame.

It’s not that complicated.

An objective observer would conclude that it’s a female fantasy outlining how their mating patterns are torn between a dark attraction to aggressive men and a logical drive towards attaining resource maxing. Its just describing how they rationalize and self justify any actions they take in pursuance of those goals.

It’s the bad boy archetype vs rich provider archetype and it plays out in many female focused romances (twilight, etc).

It’s hard wired into their brains for good or for bad.

i think most of the culture surrounding the manosphere and red pill stuff is pretty toxic and unhealthy, but any women that say it's all bullshite need to look at this movie and ask why it is so insanely popular with women and why so many women identify with Rachel McAdams character. it's basically a documentary on how women work and think, and the manosphere could not have come up with a better proof of concept if they had made it themselves.

I hate this movie so much. My wife loves it.

All of what was stated above is true, and no one has mentioned that the war widow that loved him was thrown away like trash, too, because he pined over this stupid biatch for his entire life.

Yep, the female brain isn't complicated. They not only want their way all the time they expect it. Oh and double standards are bad when they don't work in her favor.

the chick in the movie is a grade A attention seeker. she wanted to be chased. knew a girl exactly like that that always had 2 (or more) guys competing for her.

The movie Don Jon got it right.

Porn warps men's minds.
Chick flicks warp women's minds.
