are people aware of just how loaded the next 24 months will be? starting in december of this year with star wars, it's basically going to be a non-stop period over 24 months where every few months we will see the release of a major film(s) from a major franchise/IP.

starting later this year -

december 2015 - star wars episode VII

february 2016 - deadpool

march 2016 - batman vs superman

may 2016 - captain america: civil war, x-men:apocalypse

june 2016 - warcraft, independence day resurgence

july 2016 - star trek 3, bourne 5

august 2016 - suicide squad

november 2016 - doctor strange

december 2016 - star wars: rogue one

march 2017 - wolverine 2

may 2017 - guardians of the galaxy 2, star wars episode VIII

june 2017 - world war z 2, toy story 4, wonder woman

july 2017 - war of the planet of the apes

november 2017 - thor:ragnarok, justice league: part I

december 2017 - avatar 2

and this will most certainly continue into 2018, when we'll see avengers: infinity war part I, the flash, star wars: han solo, jurassic world 2, black panther, aquaman, new spider man, captain marvel, and avatar 3.

just insane.

Mate, you should include in the OP that this is a list for comic reading nerds.

We're gonna get two or three movies a year each from Marvel and DC plus at least one of XMen/Spiderman/Fantastic 4/other random Fox and Sony comic book movies for the forseeable future. Plus at least one Star Wars a year. The movie industry is all about franchises now.

All I see are comic books. I guess that's cool if your into that but it doesn't excite me at all.

Star Wars, Star Trek, Bourne, Independence Day, World War Z, Warcraft, and Avatar are considered comic book movies now?

Is Superman going to get a stand alone sequel prior to the Justice League?

Will we see Batman get a movie prior to the Justice League?

Seems like JL is getting thrown out there quickly. Took a long time for The Avengers to get its first out because each character needed their own movie.

For a moment I thought this was a Strangelove reboot and I was very angry.

Movies have turned TV-like with these franchises. Just have to wait a year between episodes rather than a week.

This. I'm not seeing anything that is going to cause me to rush to the theatre.

DC is doing the opposite of Marvel and introducing all their characters in BvS and JL before they get their standalone movies.

Don't care for avatar. But I may spend more at the theater in 2016 than in all the rest.

Take Bourne off that list and all those movies will be like comic book movies. Again, just not my thing.
