I’m gonna guess there were 12 mandos in the scouting party.

Yeah, it was 12 mandos and Grogu.

First is the severely injured mandalorians that need to be offloaded to the fleet, how were they injured?

I know they asked "do you have food." I just took that as this group was struggling to survive. Could be wrong though.

Luke did not show up to face Gideon or save the Mandalorians. The episode prior Grogu reached out to any and all Jedi via sitting on that stone before being captured. Luke was able to feel/hear him through the force and came to get him.

I'm aware of that. But regardless of his intentions when he showed up, he still took down Gideon and his troops and saved the Mandos. So at the least, he's aware that there are imperial factions out there building advanced troopers. Seems like info he might relay to Leia and the New Republic.

Because of Gideon’s lack of interest in the Necromancer project and the horns on the helmet, I’m wondering if he’s not secretly cloning Maul

Great episode. I do hope they save Thrawn’s apearance for Ahsoka. I am hoping we get a Sabine cameo since last episode looks to be on Madalore.

How would Gideon have Maul's DNA to clone him from? I haven't watched the animated series in a while, but I don't remember the Empire ever capturing Maul (Palpatine captured Maul during the Clone Wars IIRC).

I think the Maul-like horns on his helmet are more likely just done as a slight towards Bo Katan

So Grogu got a zord and the man with no name is now co-leading an army to fight space Nazis.

In the clone wars series Maul was actually ruler of Mandalore for a bit and his followers wore helmets with horns on them.

Not just Thrawn, but a Gilad Pellaeon appearance as well.

So jazzed for Thrawn.

I don't think she was returning to the ship with anyone, even though she said she had injured survivors with her.

Didn't they show a bunch of surface-dwelling Mandos laid out all along the floor of the Gauntlet as she was heading back to orbit?

Based on Canon he has never shown concern for the Empire possibly coming back. And of course he knows this because we saw in last season Ashoka had been in touch with him and she knew and has been hunting Thrawn but again Luke is only concerned with his new temple and training new Jedi.

The final scene in season 2 with Luke I believe was more of a ode to him not a Luke is back type of thing. It was the moment all SW fans had been hoping for to see Luke in full fighting action and what he was capable of just like Vader's scene in the end of Rogue One.

They’re sending MFing Tie Interceptors and Bombers after their fleet.

I know they traditionally hang TIEs in the SD bays, but hanging the Interceptors inverted like bats in a cave was glorious.

We can only assume from the God-awful sequel trilogy that this is the cloning program that gave us Snoke/Zombie Palpatine. They were fairly heavy-handed at that.

Plus, Gideon's design sensibilities with the Beskar-clad Dark Trooper (white?) 2.0 armor, it seems like they're headed towards Gideon being the founder of the First Order.

If the Praetorians are available for requisition, then where are they hanging out and who are they protecting prior to being assigned to Mandalore/Gideon?

This was the case in the Zahn books, too.

I agree with others in regards to Grogu as I see no value for him in the show anymore. His arc is not advancing and brings no value to the other arcs currently.

I still believe the Armourer is Rook Kast and would make sense if she is setting up the other Mandalorians. If so she was always the enemy of Bo Katan.

I assume Thrawn will show up as planned to ambush the Mandalorian fleet and the only way to stop or save anyone will be the New Republic/rangers. Which will set up next season and other shows.

The only way anybody is riding that mythosaur is with Grogu's help.

It appears to me that for the third season finale in a row they’ve setup another showdown with Moth Gideon. The mythosaur feels primed to make an appearance
