At the end when mando and grogu are walking up the ship's ramp Ahsoka nods at Grogu. Does this signal that he told her when they were communicating he didn't want to leave Mando? Is that the real reason Ahsoka says she can't/won't train him?
I just rewatched the episode, and there's far more communication going on than what Ahsoka lets on to Mando.

You can tell from the pauses and slight smiles, Ahsoka is wording things in a certain way (to state a Jedi move ).

I wonder, during the early parts... at one point she says "let him sleep, I will test him tomorrow".
There was also a part when she says "come over here" and Mando says he's stubborn, and Ahsoka said "I wasn't talking to him". So... there's some occasional misunderstanding on who she's talking to.

I wonder, who was actually being tested?

She said Grogu had been trained by many masters. She then played with a pebble. Kinda a simple thing for a jedi, and we've already seen that he can pick up a rhino... that was even in the recap.

It's funny; old Ben, in the original movie, told someone that the Force comes from living things all around; and told someone to reach out with his mind.
He told Luke, his intended pupil; not Han.

Ahsoka told... MANDO what the Force was; and once we got the game of catch going, she handed off to Mando, and told HIM to try to make a connection.

In fact, she says a LOT, speaking aloud... after communing with Grogu deep into the night WITHOUT saying a word.
Heck, I even wonder if the statements "he's concealed his abilities to survive", and "I sense a deep attachment" etc are referring to Mando, and not Grogu.

Sorta curious, how much of what Ahsoka says is what SHE thinks, and how much is giving a voice to Grogu, who couldn't even tell Mando his name.

Maybe Mando’s line “a Jedi teaming up with a mandalorian, they’d never expect it” could be a possible foreshadow for Mando being a Jedi? Maybe Mando’s parents hid him during the raid bc he is force sensitive?

I do think Grogu is holding back big time. If anything ever happens to Mando that little guy is going to rampage and possibly go bad.

I would be shocked if they made Mando into a Jedi but Filoni and Favreau are the only two that could pull it off and would probably nail it.

I’m a little disappointed that my fan fiction theory of LBY actually being a Yoda clone isn’t coming to fruition.

Loved the episode. The final showdowns were very shogun-esque. The cinematography is amazing in this show.

I’m thinking since Thrawn is back, then so is Ezra. Maybe he will be coming in later.

Was hoping the guy with the laser shotgun would be a bit more formidable of an opponent but other than that, great episode.

It seemed to possibly look that way especially when the scientists from the 1st season was wearing the same Kamino clone patch on his uniform. But it appears now not to clone but take DNA to help provide some power.

I agree and think Ashoka knows if he takes Grogu to that planet that it will be Ezra that comes.

We know that his ship is being tracked by Moff Gideon and I would not be surprised that the last episode Gideon shows up while Bo Kataan with her group to help Mando defeat Gideon and she gets the Dark Saber back. I would also not be surprised to see Grogu leave with Ezra. And at that point Thrawn appears to end the season.

Enjoyed the episode as they finally advanced the story some. However, every episode seems to have the same theme and we knew there was no way Ashoka was taking or aiding Mando in his quest.

Show up to another planet to find a Jedi. Run into a person that needs help. Help said person only to be given another nugget to follow to another planet. Every. Single. Episode.

I'll stand by saying they should have used the Zahn trilogy as an outline.

I read those in the mid 90's and have been wanting to see Thrawn on screen since. Filoni delivers.

It had clones. Dark jedi and gave us Thrawn. Thrawn was a great villan and I was super excited to hear his name.

I plan to start rereading Heir to the Empire this week.

It's a western or samurai story. I like it.
Good guy goes on quests. Sidequests are needed to advance the primary quest.

If they aren’t using The Mandalorian to be a soft reboot of everything post-ROTJ and are indeed moving forward with the sequels being canon, then it’s pretty clear that the experiments on Grogu were to help Palpatine find a suitable body to inhabit. He knows that Yoda species naturally lives for centuries and that human bodies have a much shorter expiration date so it makes sense for him to want to find out what makes them last so long and use that in a clone.

I have been looking forward to Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano...since it was thrown out there way back when, in theory. I know Rosario publicly said that she was down with it a few years ago, so the wait has been long. BUT, she nailed it and we knew she would. I hope the talks of a spinoff really do happen, there is so much that they can clearly do with Tano in a live action setting. With Clone Wars and Rebels (really shocked when she showed up there), she slowly became my favorite Star Wars Character all around. The things that she went through, really made you respect her and want to stand behind that little badass. I'm still not sure where she stands in the Jedi sense, but at least she didn't lay her laser swords down for good.

The talk of Ezra seems to be the most logical next step. Thrawn and Ezra should have a very deep history at this point and we know Thrawn has been teased (But, that could also be something for Tano show...who really knows?) I see all this talk about Ezra, but no one mentioning who would play him. Could Taylor Gray do it? He seems to have a pretty similar look. You know he'd nail the voice for sure

I just don't see Luke showing up in this at all, but I've definitely been wrong before.....

I don’t see that either.

But they could do some cool things with Luke meeting Ahsoka for the first time. Ahsoka was knew both of Luke’s parents very well.

If anyone could make it work this team could. Just ignore the sequels and move in the best direction.

It’s almost like they’re on some kind of journey or something

Just wanted to pop in to say they need to hand the keys to Star Wars over to Jon Favreau and his creative team.

Whatever Kennedy and company outlined for the Obi-Wan series (or mini series) have them turn it over to Favreau and his troop so they can save it.

Agreed. I love this show but it's starting to feel like all of the side quests in the big RPGs. Talk to someone, go retrieve the thing they lost/had stolen, return it, get reward.

Mando needs to start avoiding the white question marks and get to the yellow question marks soon.

But in all seriousness, I would play the HELL out of THIS game!!!!! You walk around and Grogu is attached to you like Pikachu was in Pokemon Yellow

Is it just me or is naming The Child as well as revealing he’s just another Jedi youngling kind of deflate the mystery around the show?

I feel like all the tension in the balloon just popped.

Who saved him from order 66?

What has he been doing since?

Why can't he speak Galactic Basic yet if he is 50?

Who is in charge of the empire?

There are still questions.

I got one HATED the Resistance vs First order concept. So the Republic is just inept?

The sequels make less and less sense.

I don't think learning about his past changes much. If anything it reinforces where this is headed, Mando becoming Grogu's primary caretaker. Grogu is a homeless war orphan like Mando. Mando won't be able to leave him.

No, because we knew he was a Jedi and we also knew he wasn't going to go through 3+ seasons without having a name

Using the force =/= being a jedi.

We knew he could use the force but we didn't know he had been trained as a padawan at coruscant.
