Whoever wrote this series really never read or care about the Simurillian. Elron is a prince, not just some political elf; his character is alll wrong. Galadriel was never a warrior princess. She was a keeper of lore and later ringbearer.

For some reason the creatives who get paid way too much money for this sort of stuff insist on making their female stars insufferable Mary Sues.

So after watching the first two, and not being a Tolkien reader. This just seems ok. It’s not terrible but it’s not great either. The jumping in the water, so stupid. The strong, warrior woman is such a tired story line. I mean no other elf even took a swing at the snow troll in the beginning except her. The worst of all though has to be the black dwarf woman. It really takes you out of the scene. The pacing needs to pick up also. We are 25% done with the season and not much has happened

Yeah the opening is bad. I can understand why Tolkien fans are pissed. Amazon spends all this money to try to make a good LOTR series and they have these elementary, try to make females feel good, scenes. It’s doing an injustice to his works.

Establishing an evil presence by way of personal stakes is "trying to make females feel good"? There are things I don't like about the opening, but this is a stupid take.

LSU vs Florida state had more viewers than LSU VS Oregon. Doesn’t mean it was a better product.

I like him also. His lady friend has some nice stuff going on too. The rest of the show is arse though. I don't mind mixing in different races for the actors but is every couple interracial? I really dislike all of the harfoots or whatever the frick they're called. They all seem mildly retarded. What a collosal waste of money.

The paper boat scene alone is anti-Tolkien . Elves are described as having a love and curiosity for learning. They excel at creating and artwork. Little girl’s origami boat would be cool to see. How did they react in this show?

Investors would also be questioning numbers without a 3rd party validation. Maybe the numbers are true but let’s see them from someone outside of Amazon or it’s entities. Just saying because Enron was reporting their own numbers as well

In regards to the item in the chest the dwarves are hiding I have not seen talked about. Could it be Mithril? I saw in upcoming previews a Balrog and iirc they dug deep for it Moria and released the Balrog

Can someone explain something for me? At the beginning they go east to middle earth to fight evil. Later the small band is allowed to travel back west for eternal life.
