I fully expected the VP to be Lori.

Kevin doesn't know that Laurie (might have) killed herself.
All the people Kevin interacted with in the alt-world are people Kevin knows are dead - Other Kevin Sheriff, Evie, Australian children, Christopher Sunday, Patti, Meg, Australian olympian who thought he was God.
No one that Kevin knows to be alive in his world are present in his alt-world. Kevin has no idea Laurie (may have) drowned herself. Therefore, no Laurie in the alt-world.

Kevin doesn't know who Chris Sunday is, or who David Burton is and that he was dead or not.
In fact, he saw David Burton in the Bridge in afterlife Jarden and at the Karoke bar before he was dead so that's interesting to think about.

Oh my God this was the greatest artistic achievement of all time . I'm quitting my job, leaving the wife and kids behind, and starting a blog devoted to answering all these unanswered questions . I just feel privileged to be alive to have witnessed this series , living of course with the guilt of knowing that our forefathers died prior to having seen it.

Yes.

Of course. Otherwise, what was the point of her episode?

yes, that was a perfect ending to her character. No need to revisit

Laurie's definitely dead. The Leftovers doesn't really play around with that shite in their universe.
FWIW, I'm still not over Nora's story about the beach ball. This season has been an A+ for Carrie Coon (She's also pretty good in Fargo). But that scene alone should get her nominated for an emmy.

I think she is too, the theme song being 1-800-suicide and the flashback with the pills and giving Kevin the lighter.
It's def left ambiguous though because a) we don't see her die b) Nora was telling her how scuba diving could go either way that's the beauty of it, and c) we did not see her in dead land and we have seen every single person that died in the series there.
I think it was left open to interpretation but leaning towards her going through with it.

Ok, so I have a question. In the alt universe, where Kevin is President, we see Evie. Kevin delivers the message to her from John and she claims it is a bunch of shite because her entire family was killed. Liam was there, I assume his siblings were as well, but their mom was not. I know Kevin was reading from the teleprompter about ending the family unit and some weird stuff but it made me wonder, if everyone that is alive in the alt universe are people who departed/died in our universe and people in our universe have died or departed from the alt universe? The mirror has to have some kind of symbolism here. I just can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe how when we look in a mirror and everything is the same but switched? Seems the same for these two worlds.

Idk. This show isn't necesssrily easy to predict what happens next.
But Kevin didn't see her in the other world, or whatever, but he's seen everyone else that's died.

Kevin died and went to the other world as the rains came in. That is the same time Laurie could have been killing herself. Maybe a timing thing? Who knows?

And if that's the case, it's important to note that Kevin is present in both universes. Of course we know he is the nucleus and focal point of the story's relationships. Maybe it was important for him to come into contact with and reach some level of reconciliation within himself in the last episode in order to achieve the same with the the others in his life. Who knows.
