I didn't see any of that in the show. In the game, it's implied. But the show is different than the game.

It’s heavily implied that he’s about to rape her when he pins her to the floor at the end. There’s a reason he kept going on about wanting a “partner.”

David is questionable (in the show). But what did the others do that was bad or evil?

You mean aside from hunting down other survivors and killing them for food?

If Joel hadn’t fended them off, he and Ellie would have been strung up with the rest of the “venison.”

Also - he was “questionable”? He outright admits to using religion as a means to control the group. He lies to the women and children, telling them they’re eating venison when they’re actually eating people. He slaps a young girl whose father just died and basically tells her “I’m your father now.” He tries to take a 14 year old as a wife.

I would say he’s pretty far past “questionable” by the time we get the whole story.

That describes basically every culture throughout recorded history. Its not surprising or shocking.

We don't who those people are or how they died. He mentioned raiders. It didn't seem like they had the manpower or proficiency to hunt down and overpower other groups.

This is bias from playing the game. He was trying to recruit her. They needed more women. Sure, questionable motives and actions. Product of that time and circumstances. Gender equality and statutory laws don't hold much sway 20 years into the end days.

Bruh. The writers made sure to point out that A) he used to be a teacher and B) he’s always had “violent tendencies.” He was trying to hold her hand in the cell. He made comments about her being mature. He talked about “creating” life with her. The last thing he told her was “it’s more fun when they fight back” as he reached down for his pants.

I haven’t played the game in like 8 years. I didn’t even remember that part of it. But it’s painfully obvious what they were implying.

The same here.

That’s extra stabbing needed to kill him made it a difficult stage for sure

IMPLIED???

He was going to rape her. He was holding her down and reaching into his pants while saying something to the effect that it is more fun with they fight.

It's not at all like the game and it couldn't be. Ellie and Joel can't merc a dozen guys apiece. I actually ended up rooting for David and his group in this version. We keep taking our modern restraints and morals then try to apply them to this apocalyptic world. It's 20 years after the fall. There are no laws. It's kill or be killed. Cannabilism shouldn't be so shocking. Ellie and Joel trespassed then killed one of their group. Then they are lingering and poaching their food source. She pulls a gun on them first. Then the 2nd time, she shoots at them. Joel is torturing/executing people for no reason. That whole group of 30-40 people just lost the bulk of their men and leaders, plus all their food, and probably most starve to death. Perception is tricky..

Between this and you sticking up for Karl Malone getting a 13 year old pregnant, one thing is for sure:

He literally says its more fun when they bite

Teacher, violent tendencies, needs a partner, tried holding her hand, pinned her down, messed with his pants.

I mean shite dude what other signs do you need.

Anyone else thinking they might throw a twist into the finale?

If I recall, I don’t think there were any encounters with infected from this point through the end of the game. But given how few infected encounters we’ve had in the show I wonder if they try to work something in.

In the teaser they showed a scene of an infected attacking Ellie’s mom so we’re getting some flashback it seems

He literally says he likes it when they struggle and says there’s no fear in love while on top of her. You have to be trolling
