This is the episode I’m sure we’ve all been waiting for, probably the darkest episode of the season

Makes you remember that HBO passed on The Walking Dead and wonder what they could have done with it.

It’s been a long time since I played it but the restaurant seemed exactly like the game, down to the little saloon doors Ellie hid behind.

Early in the episode, I was starting to wonder if they had decided to omit the cannibalism aspect. As soon as they focused on the meat that guy brought into the kitchen, I knew I was wrong.

David’s henchman that gets cleaved while Ellie is caged is Joel from the game

I had forgotten about that scene in the game and when I realized it I sort of yelled “oh shite!!” My wife had no clue. I remember that part of the game giving me anxiety with the way David would pop out of nowhere.

I’m not sure which version of Ellie going ham on David I like more, both were fricking amazing and Joel was insanely brutal.

Serious PTSD from the number of times I died in that restaurant.

Troy Baker did very well. Can't wait for Ashley next episode.

Lol I thought the same thing. I sat up in the couch because I felt I was going to have to help her run from him after she stabbed him the 2nd time.

This episode was perfectly true to the game. It felt exactly the same.

Minus the part where you creep around as ellie and kill a bunch of guys i forgot about that.

It's not at all like the game and it couldn't be. Ellie and Joel can't merc a dozen guys apiece.

I actually ended up rooting for David and his group in this version. We keep taking our modern restraints and morals then try to apply them to this apocalyptic world. It's 20 years after the fall. There are no laws. It's kill or be killed. Cannabilism shouldn't be so shocking.

Ellie and Joel trespassed then killed one of their group. Then they are lingering and poaching their food source. She pulls a gun on them first. Then the 2nd time, she shoots at them. Joel is torturing/executing people for no reason. That whole group of 30-40 people just lost the bulk of their men and leaders, plus all their food, and probably most starve to death. Perception is tricky..

I didn't see any of that in the show. In the game, it's implied. But the show is different than the game. The way they portrayed this group is different. They are desperate and religious. David is questionable (in the show). But what did the others do that was bad or evil?

They basically hit you over the head with it, multiple times.
