Or Green Lanterns. You just shoot either of them like you would any normal human.

I don't believe him.

If this was the best they could do, no one involved in this show needs to ever find work again.

Not sure why it would look like that to you.

I enjoyed the show, but I'm not a GL fan. I've never read a comic or watched any of the cartoons. I'm the audience that they went for and that's the smart thing to do. Comic fans alone will not make a show successful. You have to reach out to the general audience.

It’s a good TV show, terrible superhero show.

It was interesting enough to keep me watching through the end....but the finale just failed to move the needle much as far as my future interest goes. I'm sure I'll give season 2 a shot when it starts but can't say I'm anticipating it either

That's how I feel and I'm not a superhero movie person. Never watched any of the 15 iterations of marvel or dc. I did enjoy this show though.

I was a huge GL fan as a kid of the 70s/80s but I can make room for this as being something separate.

They play a little too loose with the charge time on the ring, using it as a foil far too often. Along with that, you have this incredibly powerful weapon and it hardly gets used at all?

I hope they tighten that up if they get a 2nd season.

The writing seemed at first to be struggling to tell a story. Looking at the season in retrospect I can see what they were doing, but the way they presented it was a bit disjointed. For example, I think it would have been a smoother ride for the audience learning alongside John if they had brought in Hal-ogram earlier as a mentor.

If they get a 2nd season, I hope they go down more of an X-Files/Twilight Zone theme. I think the ring would make going through stories like that a lot of fun for both longtime GL fans and those new to the character(s).

***addendum***
The sheriff shooting him and he just sits down and then stays in the seated position... wtf? I get that there's got to be some suspension of disbelief, but that's so basically wrong you might as well say water is dry.

This was a mediocre detective show WITH Kyle Chandler. Without him forget it.

For a GL show there wasn't much green lantern stuff. But it wasn't bad. But not really that good. No rewatch value will likely be forgotten.

Just finished the series

IMO the start of the show had promise, got off the rails and just ended up being forgettable

Meh

You sound surprised. People were pointing this stuff out back on page 2 of this topic.

"Lanterns" writer Chris Mundy says "race is always a factor" in black-white character relationships – says he doesn't think Hal Jordan is a racist, but he's "not fully educated" on privilege/microaggressions/etc. and needs to "listen and learn."

Everything in that interview was white guilt liberal racial anxiety. I don't get how people can function mentally with that sort of nonsense running around in their brains on a constant loop. As for the last episode of the show, it bored me to tears. Nothing really happened to a bunch of characters it's hard to give a single tin shite about. They have no idea what kind of show they're making, but you will listen to their lectures, you ignorant racist bastards.

They had one remotely sympathetic character and they put a bullet through his head in E1. The rest ranged from annoying to forgettable, and it wouldn't have changed the finale even a little bit if the sheriff offed herself out of guilt.

So they have their black Green Lantern. Cool. So, then I guess they will get on with it and tell some superhero stories in the next season?

Nope. Like when Obama became President, a lot thought we could get to a post racial society. Nope. Got worse. Much worse. So will this show. They went there and got ratings and renewed. They will go 3x as hard next season. Bank it.

Oh yeah, about that manhunter that is a threat to kill Lanterns and destroy the world. Nah, don't worry about him, he just wants to play football.

Good grief. Show did a great job of casting Hal Jordan and he was really starting to bring that character into something really good. But, first they wouldn't even let him be Green Lantern. Put the suit on him for about 5 minutes. Then they killed in unspectacular way.

IMO, this show is a great big FU to anyone who likes Green Lantern.

Bro can’t you just admit we’re all bigots until we take the time to stop and listen to why we’re bigots and owe everything to being born white and quite frankly owe the world an apology for it.
