I get it, it's not the realistic position. Unless they just propped him up after shooting him somehow.
It's a comic book show though. Batman Begins, TDK, Infinity War, Watchmen, etc. all the great super hero movies could be nit picked to death. I'm not saying this is on their level because it's not, just that even the best of them have stuff wrong with them if you examine every single little detail.
I'm sure they are simply doing it because it looks better visually than a crumpled over Hal in between two bleachers.
I nit pick stuff a lot too so this is kettle calling the pot black if I'm being hoinest but with super hero stuff you got to let more stuff slide.
I don't think his sitting up like that is a nit-pick. The writers are trying to position the series as being a bit of a mystery so his sitting up like that is either a clue or incredibly shitty directing. My hope is the former as I've largely enjoyed the series and would like to see it get a 2nd season (with Halogram).

Just listening to the venom and these people‘s voices, the fake oppression and obsession they have. It’s not abou skin color but skin tone. John wasn’t dark enough for some people. Just like when they whine like little bitches about the next Black Panther, and how he’s too fair skin of a black person. It is beyond insufferable, they are so blatant in their racism.

The line between absurdity and atrocity is thin. These people are 100% bought into absurdity.

The Midwest Huxtables comment wasn't anything. Who did it offend?
Some black people would find that type of comment offensive. If you would like me to, I could expound.
quote:
You see, Hal's a racist just like Southern white men. They don't know they're racist but they are. Even if they golf with you and leave you in the will, still a racist. Isn't Hal Jordan from Coast City, California? The surf guy is like men of a certain age from the South, see, because white man. She doesn't like white men, and Hal is the stand-in for that. It's a generational and racial resentment problem that's she's internalized and vomited onto Hal Jordan. There's no nuance to being an angry, racist black chick.
I feel like this is a case of listening to get offended, rather than truly listening to understand. Because that's not even what she said.

Wut?!?
Chadwick Boseman was fairer skinned than David Jonsson.
You got a link to anyone saying he's "too fair skinned"?

Feel free to tell us who is offended by it and why. I bet it ain't the people who grew up watching The Cosby Show.

Who said I was offended? I'm just hearing what she's putting out there. I even quoted her. Maybe you're the one who's not listening. She compared Hal Jordan to Southern white men who are unaware of their own racism. She clearly stated that white men can have black golfing buddies, put them in their will, but still be racists. The generational thing I didn't quote directly, but she speaks in interviews about older generations not stepping to the side for them. I mean, it's pretty obvious by the show and what she has said in her interviews that she has significant disdain for white men.

More out of place profanity in this episode again. It's like an 8th grader wrote it.

There are multiple vids and articles on this topic.
FF to 3:45 in the vid specifically.
Now, 'black enough' means African American, specifically, not just 'black'. The content creator is black, btw.

I just said black people. And yes, almost any black person over the age of 30 definitely did grow up watching the Cosby Show

I just explained this and what she was saying in my previous post.

There can sometimes be truth to this.

I don't think that is obvious at all, tbh. I really like what they've done with Hal. If she wanted to turn Hal into a straight up incompetent racist bimbo, she could have. But that's not what happened.

She described Hal as having some racist tendencies. That's not the same as being an outright total racist. For example, may say some things that can come off as very offensive or demeaning. Well intentioned, potentially, but still comes off wrong.
What racist tendencies do you have?

“Don’t listen to what the creators of the show say it’s about or what the on screen story we watched was about. Its about something else”
Shills every time this happens.
BTW I called this from the jump again.

Too damn funny....and true!
"A gay Klingon having 2 black dads who abandoned him is some funny shite! It's comedy gold!"
These mouth breather writers are patting themselves on the back collectively as if THEY made John Stewart black, and he wasn't ALREADY that way in the comics! Again, insufferable race grifting tourists.
And btw - John Marshall Stewart first appeared in Green Lantern #87 (1971)
We're in 2026. 55 years after we got a black Green Lantern and 10 years after we've had a 2 term black President. Who I guess isn't really black, per their ever changing rules.

I'm not a 60 year old white man. But in any case, I don't know. Someone close to me could potentially tell me though.

The Key and Peele song lmfao. It’s perfect, these people are a parody.

You can’t make this shite up. The lack of self awareness still surprises me no matter how many times I see it.

And yet I'm the one some on here accuse for politicizing things ?
If these writers didn't race bait first and last, they'd have literally nothing to offer the writing room.

You have absolutely been the first to point out your political grievances with a show or movie in the past, without any provocation by other posters.

There’s no defending this show but they’re still defending it. Tells you everything.

Exactly. That’s why you pretend like you don’t see the anti-white man stereotyping and propaganda that this chick is spewing. It don’t mean shite to you, you ain’t white. You agree with her for the same reason.
