re: The DC Studios series Lanterns premieres today, August 16, 2026, at 9:00 p.e. ET.

So, the whole dynamic with the Guardian is off.
I just watched a video suggesting why (first time I've done so for this show), and the reason provided 100% fits comic book canon. But if so, I don't like how they're working it into the show.
Without spoilers, basically you would need to already know the deeper canon for it to slip seamlessly into the storyline. The casual viewer would be blindsided, and that doesn't seem to be a good idea when you are trying to bring in new views.
I guess otherwise you could get away with multiple seasons, done in a timely manner (no longer delays), and you maybe spend most of next season explaining the bigger picture.

24 hours easily and by the use in this show it should last much longer. There’s no excuse for it to keep running out. It’s just being used as a plot device.

Yep. With the nonexistent use in this show, they shouldn't have run out of a charge at all yet.

Maybe it is just the actor. Hal is a total douche but I still like him. I am not sure if it is the character or the actor. I don't really care about John except for the fact that in my mind he looks EXACTLY like the John Stewart from Justice League.

Yea I like him too. I guess I see how some see him as a villain but I'm not seeing him as a villain at all. Disgruntled =/= villain. He's still doing heroic stuff, he's just tired of it.

Hal on the floor at 1:20 has the same circular scar on his arm as John from the Manhunter healing machine.

He charged it before he left for Oa. An experienced GL would have re-charged it the moment he got back though.
It's like a cop damned near emptying their weapon at the firing range, then going out to work one of the most violent neighborhoods without reloading first.

I figured he would, but glad to see that Guy Gardner is gonna be appearing. The melt from John's parents will be hilarious when they see him with the ring.

You arent allowed to not like him or youre a racist. Youre about to get lectured by his mother on why his dad didnt get picked to be green lantern because of intergalactic racism.

A dude showed up so eager to complain, but didn't watch the show enough to know which character is which. Maybe Hal's dead mother will come back to lecture us on why Hal's dead dad didn't get picked by the guardians decades before earth knew of the guardians. Or, maybe, this guy's dumb post doesn't need to be defended.
