That seems more likely. Seems like the whole town are some kind of robots since the hospital is just for looks.

I just watched some episode 1 and 2 breakdowns on youtube to see what I'm missing and wow, there is alot going on under the surface of this show. I liked it before but now I think it has great potential. I hope they can deliver.

John Stewart being The Martian Manhunter would be a waste of the series and just confuse comic fans and non-fans.

Did you even watch the video? The theory is that martian manhunter is the manhunter hiding in nebraska that John has to find

Does the ring have the ability to detect alien detectors when it's out of power? How could it have taken him just 5 minutes? I don't know any Green lantern lore so just asking.

He can move faster with the ring. Instead of dragging three bodies through a parking lot, into a vehicle, driving to wherever the stadium is in relation to the morgue, dragging the bodies to the detector, then doing all of that in reverse, he could have simply encased the bodies in a green bubble (similar to the one he used on the exploding alien) and then flew all of them over to the detectors.

That said, yes "alien detector" is something the ring would likely be able to do. I don't think he needed that though. We all already knew those were aliens. In this case, he was testing the detector itself, not the alien bodies.

I'm not naming names, but some of you people in here will cry about anything. If you can't find any enjoyment from a show or you see some political agenda, real or imagined, behind every bit of dialogue, then why do you watch?

While it's out of power? Thought it was pretty obvious that's why he was doing that. If Stewart would have already been back with the lantern it would obviously have been really dumb like you say for him to do that but with a dead ring it fit.

this show very obviously has a blatant woke agenda. why do you think we watch? (until they prove they are who we know they are). Because we're fans of the characters. dumb arse post

No, not while it's out of power.

The show definitely wants us to believe he was doing that because he had no other option at the time. I just don't believe a Green Lantern would make that choice. He would know he can get that job done much quicker once John and the lantern are back.

It is also possible, I guess, that part of his goal was to antagonize the sheriff and her father-in-law, but that seems like an even dumber thing to do with a powered down ring. Also, that would require me to believe he had some sort of foreknowledge about what he was investigating, but in that case there would have been no reason for him to go visit Sinestro to ask about the Manhunters.

Oh if they keep having meaningless episodes like this one I definitely will stop watching. Complete waste of my time. Huge downgrade from episode 1 to episode 2.

Also, the political agenda in this show is obvious. They couldn't have hit you any harder over the head with it than they did with the "my white man" diner discussion. It's silly to pretend otherwise. You may agree with that sort of political slant in your entertainment, but at least be honest enough to admit that's clearly a sign of a political agenda.

No, it really doesn't. It may have some woke-ish dialogue, but what's the agenda you think they're pushing? Be specific. And quit with the "dumb arse" comments, a-hole, it's not called for. I posted in a civil manner, you should try it.

The political shite is dumb, and as hamfisted as Watchmen

Lindlehof is bad at social commentary, it always comes across as nuanced as a Reddit r/politics circle jerk

But I just eyeroll through that.

At least there is more to this show than braindead redditor philosophizing

Watchmen was rendered completely unwatchable by it (rimshot)

I mean you say nothing happened in the episode but yet you think it would have been just better to wait and do nothing? He was figuring stuff out while having no (?) power. The show is also clearly a detective show as well. I like Kyle Chandler a lot so I'm just enjoying his character.

I feel like it was more of his hunches that he keeps talking about. Though he doesn't really seem to have antagonizing the Yellowstone crew.

It's only two episodes in, I think it's going to pick up. Watching after the credits it seems this episode was more of a character building episode than a progressing the story a large amount episode. They put some emphasis on the reverence John gives to the suit and in the end that Hal obviously has reverence for the position no matter how jaded he comes across.

Martian Manhunters and Manhunters are not the same thing but this show is dumb enough to not know that.

I went and rewatched the diner conversation. She talked about being married to a rich, eccentric white man, her husband, who she said she loves and he loves her. He talked about being sent off on an errand and whether or not he trusts Hal. I didn't see any of that as rising to the level of some sort of woke agenda.
