I’m not Trump’s biggest fan but admit to preferring him over the alternative. I may not have always agreed with Stewart’s take but he made me laugh often. Colbert made me laugh all the time and he was parodying my viewpoints most often.

I can completely handle somebody skewering my side if it’s funny. Noah isn’t funny.

I stopped watching TDS when Noah took over. He comes off as the guy at the party who's too cool for the room.

No no no, you’re lying just to get street cred or something on this board.

It’s gone the same way as MTV and VH1. If they all went off the air and South Park moved to Hulu or something, nobody would care.

They were all big in the 90s because they had cool, original programming that at the tine pushed the envelope. But now that the general public is desensitized to the shock value and reality tv they brought to the table and now that most of the writing talent is going to HBO, AMC, FX, etc they’re entirely forgettable.

One of the worst things about being a leftist (besides the hideous women) is you are duty bound to support these untalented hacks. They all think Noah is as humorous as a toothache. But they'll never admit it publicly because on the correct side.

Noah in general is awful... He’s a smug twat. I’ve caught his show a few different times and never even cracked a smile. He is the Samantha Bee of Comedy Central.

start this by saying that I absolutely cannot stand Trevor Noah

I’m not a fan either but is there a show u think got better during this time period?

Just saying if you didn’t like him then why u think it would be better now? Comes off like u trying to settle old scores.

Conan does alright but they got the crew all in on it.

He had Kaley Cuoco on the other night. It was pretty good. Conan's the only late night host that's even remotely tolerable.

Losing John Oliver, Stewart, and Colbert all within a year or so was a tough blow for CC. Had Oliver taken over Daily Show, it’d probably still be good. Although there’d still be the problem of focusing on Trump while every other nightly show also focuses on Trump. Hard to stand out in the crowd.

Pushing Larry Wilmore’s racially obsessed show was also a mistake. Even amongst a woke target audience, that show was a dud and turned off viewers.

Say what? I absolutely loved Bush and Stewart went in raw on that dude on the reg. And that didn’t bother me. People will make fun of the President, that’s part of the game. But make it funny is all I ask. Look no further than SNL. It used to be actually funny (Will Ferrell’s Bush was hilarious), and now it’s usually just “Trump sucks lolzllzzzz.” It feels like there isn’t any effort in it.

I keep comparing it to Spade, I guess because he also has a late night show (although apolitical). And I find him funny, no matter who he’s making fun of. Trevor Noah just isn’t IMO.

The ratings bear it out pretty clearly that Stewart had significantly higher ratings than Noah.

It's not any kind of tough claim to make that more people thought he was funny and that he reached a wider audience than just die-hard liberals. Noah and the other late night hosts today seem much more niche driven in search of the political choir.

Stewart was great and not every night show on TV was obsessed with bashing the president like now. There’d be some jokes about W bc he provided plenty ammunition, but not like this.
