The Daily Social Distancing Show with Trevor Noah....awful?

I will start this by saying that I absolutely cannot stand Trevor Noah. I just don't think he is funny. At all. I am just wondering if his show is as bad as I think it is. I never was a huge Daily Show fan, but I used to watch it here and there when Jon Stewart hosted, and I liked some of the correspondents. But this one just seems bad. Any time I've ever caught more than a minute or two of it, I cringe and turn the channel.
But the new format with him alone at his (I assume) house delivering jokes (sorry, "jokes") just seems SO fricking awful based on the commercials alone. And I have to assume that they market the show with some of the best material. He just is not funny to me. And it has nothing to do with his politics...I could not care less about that. Hell, Jon Stewart doesn't align at all with me politically, but he was funny and could deliver a joke really well. And on top of that he was just engaging and accessible, I guess.
But the commercials for this show make me feel bad for that dude. And it's not just because of the format...I've seen commercials for David Spade's “at home” show and they make me at least chuckle (I am a Spade fan, admittedly).
So is the show as bad as I think it is? I just saw another commercial, cringed really bad, and wanted to ask here.

Actually, any show with Trevor Noah is awful.

I was a HUGE Daily Show with Jon Stewart fan as well as a fan of the Colbert Report. Trevor Noah isn’t funny, like at all, on the Daily Shoe. Which is strange because his standup is very funny. Colbert stopped being funny when he started playing himself on CBS instead of the Colbert character he had created for Comedy Central

I watched the Daily Show religiously growing up. Still a fan of Jon Stewart even though I don't care for some of his views. Trevor Noah just straight up sucks. He's not funny and his lack of self awareness really is incredible.

Jon Stewart was incredible. Noah is absolutely terrible. That show is still on the air? I feel like Comedy Central doesn’t have any good shows anymore aside from South Park and even that is a little long in the tooth.

Stewart was funny when reasonably balanced and not hackish.
Colbert was funny until the joke wore thin.
Oliver was great when he filled in on TDS, although his own show is really hit or (mostly) miss.
Noah hasn't been, isn't and is unlikely to ever be funny.

They're not funny. At all. And CC insists on playing them all damn day. I havent watched the show in years but I can only assume he's making these terrible jokes at home with no writers there to help.

I enjoy when Noah gets interviewed because he had an interesting upbringing.
But it only took a couple of shows for me to see that his show wasn’t for me. Not sure why anyone who doesn’t like his show would go back for more.

Like everybody else has said, he's simply not funny. I can't remember the joke he told the other day on one of the commercials for TDS, something about being Cuomosexual and I couldn't believe he actually thought it was funny and put it on the air. It was like he was making fun of how unfunny he is without realizing it

I’m glad it’s not just me then. And I know the one you’re talking about. It was stupid. The commercial I saw was something like why does Trump say “I’m not a doctor” when there are doctors standing next to him that can answer questions, so why do we get his opinion ever? And I was like well because he’s the President?
I don’t know, it was just weird and completely unfunny. And it used to bother me that literally every single commercial was blah blah Trump. And I don’t even care about people making in if Trump, but it just felt so disingenuous and like low hanging fruit instead of trying to be actually funny. Maybe it’s how he delivers jokes but it’s just weird when I see him.

Jon Stewart, and Colbert report, going away are two blows that still hurt.
I really tried with Trevor Noah, but he’s just fricking awful. I honestly don’t know how he still has that job. I don’t know anyone my age that watches the daily show anymore, whereas I knew a lot of people that watched back when Stewart was still hosting. Maybe Noah gets decent ratings from younger kids, or CC is afraid to replace him?

I’ve never been a big fan of Noah but I don’t think the at home format works for any of the late night hosts. Political comedy when it’s just one guy lecturing into a TV screen without an audience comes across as really awkward.

Stewart is the GOAT and got me into politics. I liked Colbert on Comedy Central, he's been a melt down at the Late Show. Oliver was never funny and is a complete stooge. Noah ran the Daily Show into the ground.

Replacing his is probably pointless because nobody tuned into Comedy Central for new content anymore. Does tosh.0 even air anymore?

I lean conservative and I was a devoted Daily Show watcher from day one, when it was Craig Kilborn. Watched it all through the Jon Stewart years and loved it. After Stewart left, I found it unfunny and quickly stopped tuning in regularly. I think it was more of missing Stewart than disliking Noah. But now Daily Show is just one of a mass of shows focused on slamming Trump every night so it offers nothing interesting.

I saw him in BR years ago. Had no idea who he was and was just an opening act for stand up. I thought he was really funny. This show sucks.

It's amazing how culturally irrelevant Comedy Central became so quickly. You look at their prime when they had South Park, Chappelle Show, Daily Show that people actually watched, etc.
It's happened to many once popular cable TV channels though across the board though.

Conan is the only one I've seen that kind of pulls it off. But he has a lot more experience with the one on one interviews and podcasts.

Never watched it but usually the promos aren't even jokes. They are something about Trump. Aren't there 100 "comedy" shows like that right now?
