I can't imagine wearing a leather trench coat in Miami without getting heat stroke.

Tubbs came down to Miami from New York City. Those are his NYPD Narcotics clothes.

They are made to fit in with the drug crowd. Can't do that wearing cargo shorts and driving an Altima.

People in Miami live in one bedroom shacks and lease performance cars. In the 80s (during the height of the cocaine cowboys), Crockett and Tubbs were downright lower middle class in flash.

I love Kosinski. He has not and prob will not make a bad movie in his career. He's a perfect director for this project if Mann is not involved.

I trust him, but he'll just never be able to top this...

Why can’t they just come up with a new concept like Mann did with Miami Vice and do something original?

The Mann movie was ok but it was a mish mash of Mann’s style at the time and a Miami Vice episode with Sonny and Crocket not being Sonny and Crocket. It wasn’t really a Miami Vice movie.

Of course it was a Miami Vice movie. The movie has plot elements from multiple episodes of the tv show. Brother's Keeper, Prodigal Son, Smuggler's Blues, The Glades and others. It was Miami Vice as a modern but gritty and sleazy crime thriller. I love the movie, it's a great Mann film.

Same goes for the new Highlander being made, Cavill would kill it as the Kurgan then get somebody else for MacLeod, maybe Chris Pine

The movie was fine but the updated Cast were not like the TV versions and the movie was essentially an episode of the show. Didn’t have the tone, look or feel of Miami Vice.

I'd love it if they'd incorporate elements of "Out Where the Buses Don't Run", complete with Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms", or some sort of homage.

One of the best episodes of TV ever.

This is what he has to top. The greatest 3 minutes in the history of television.

I wasn’t sure when I heard Jordan, but he looks pretty similar with the beard. I’m kind of excited.

I'm not feeling the trench coat in Miami thing. Is he auditioning for Blade? Butler looks the part.

Their cover has always been mid level players. Thats the reason for the flash

I’ve had a lengthy career in law enforcement. Drug dealers also do not want to attract attention.

What you are describing is mostly a Hollywood trope. Dressing flashy and driving luxury vehicles is exactly what attracts law enforcement attention.

Then again, if it wasn’t for criminals being dumbasses, I probably would have had a very different career.

Have to reminder the original show is Miami coming out of the cocaine cowboy era. A lot of those guys lived it up.

Well it's just impossible to recreate the vibe and feel that show had and it can't be duplicated. Secondly I'm not watching anything with Leguizamo in it he literally told me not to see his films since I think ILLEGAL aliens should be deported for breaking the law.
