So then, why is everybody talking about it being political? If it’s not funny and not good, then say it’s not funny and not good. You got people in here going crazy over the political shite. The show has always been this way. If you don’t think it’s good and you don’t think it’s funny, don’t watch. But don’t complain about it being political.

I don’t think this season is as good as the other seasons either. But I’m still enjoying it. I don’t think it’s falling off nearly enough to stop watching by any means. I still find it very funny. Not everybody’s gonna find it funny and I get that.

But people who get offended by the political jokes, I mean come on. It’s fricking fair game. Nobody fricking takes a joke anymore. And everybody has an inability to look at themselves and laugh now. Everyone blames the left for that, but look at yourselves.

I never minded the political stuff. In past seasons it was subtle and funny. I’m someone that can laugh at myself easily and it takes a lot to offend me. The writing this season as people have sad is ham fisted and seems a lot more mean spirited instead of just poking fun.

Subtle? Was the woke amusement park subtle? Lol. The obvious “me too” messaging? Dude, this show is always been like this lol.

I think a lot of this is just because it’s election year and It feels a lot like Trump is getting specifically targeted here. If that bothers you enough to not watch the show, that’s fine. But I think people are dead wrong with saying how the subtlety is different this year. This show has always given no fricks.

WTF with the hospital drama over Hughie’s dad? That character is bringing nothing anymore. Butcher and Deep are the only 2 holding interest for me at this point.

Yep. Homelander and Butcher is it. Deep is funny. The rest of the characters are just dumb and uninteresting.
And of course it’s super duper gay. Who doesn’t want to watch touching hand touching gayness with Frenchie or centipede arse munching?

I feel like you can break down every season and call it shite if you really want to. I remember the gen v topic on here being very similar.

I enjoyed the first 3 episodes.

The politics are definitely there. I choose to ignore them.

Starlight's plastic surgery was not as bad as I was expecting. Still, a damned shame.

Don't know what the Hell they're doing with Hughie's story.

The Christmas Ice Program was very Boys. Too funny.

I watched the first three seasons a couple of weeks ago. I'm sitting here watching episode 1 of season 4. Can anyone give a reasonable reason to turn Frenchie gay? He pines away for Kimiko forever but now he's sucking face with some dude from his therapy group? Pretty dumb.

ETA: This Will Ferrell track coach white savior shite in the beginning of episode two is pretty lame.

Seems like the show has turned up tribal sociopolitical issues and turned down substance.

I've already posted it in this thread already, but do you not remember why Frenchie stopped tailing Lamplighter that resulted in Mallory's grandkids getting killed?

Look, I'm just as annoyed as anyone that they are intent on shoving his gayness down our throats, but it's not like they haven't already established in previous seasons that he is willing to bang anything that walks on two legs.

I haven't read the thread all the way through yet, I will when I'm caught up with the show. The Lamplighter thing was what, 10 seconds of dialogue? Now Frenchie's buggery is a whole major plot point out of nowhere. Don't resolve the romance with Kimiko, kill that with 5 seconds of exposition then jump into gay shite every episode.

I was concerned nobody else caught that. I did a quick search and apparently he will be in Gen V season 2.

I was just pointing our that they already established in previous seasons that Frenchie was down to railing men seeing as how he stopped tailing Lamplighter to go save his ODing male lover.

And Kimiko friend zoned him last season when she told him that they couldn't be together romantically because she saw him as her family.

Again, I'm with you in that they are forcing his gayness as a major plot point to the point that it is getting annoying. But they have established that he willing to rail dudes, and that Kimiko put a halt on any romantic relationship between the two of them (at least up to this point).

Ok, I just finished the 2nd episode. It's still a good show and I like it but I'll tell ya. It is seriously politically charged.

It's as though the writers of the 2nd episode tapped into the collective psyche of the poli-board. Holy shite, it tripped me out. It was like a tuning fork.
