This season has really dragged on. I honestly don't care anything more about this show. I'm glad it's ending, and there's only one more episode to sit through.

Yeah this season has been a waste of time. Soldier Boy has been an inconsistent character. SB is both the best and worst thing about S5.

Terrible season after a pretty solid start. Kripke’s TDS is bad and has helped ruin the show. What a tool that guy is. He’s ruined Homelander.

The whole "it's what Clara would have wanted" shtick was just bad writing. They could have just written that Homelander got the Compound V himself and it would have made much more sense than SB's constant waffling.

The only hope left was SB would take Homelander's powers. What was the whole point in showing what he was capable of doing and bringing up multiple references to him being able to manage Homelander?

Completely agree. I guess now they are gonna have Kimiko do it instead in revenge of Frenchie. This may be top 5 worse writing of a season in TV history.
Speaking of Kimiko, why the F did the suddenly give her the ability to speak perfect English?

I am finally caught up on this show. I have been enjoying the season but I agree with a lot of everyone's critiques. I assume a lot will have to happen in this last episode. I have no idea how this show will end.
Starlighter's face is so bad. It's distracting. So very sad that girl did that to herself. Once this show is over, I don't see her getting many offers.

Kind of an indictment and a compliment to the writers that they could make the character so entertaining, but also points out how bad they are at making coherent and consistently compelling storylines.

but then the show gets popular and they want to milk it for as long as possible. So now we have one of those final seasons where its really mostly filler in an attempt to limp past the finish line and get to the ending.
You could take the actual meaningful stuff from this season and it likely all fits into one 1.5 hr. extended episode.
