Isn’t that how Ashoka missed the galactic civil war? Or am I misinterpreting that.

Ahsoka missed a chunk of the pre ANH civil war. Originally, she was murdered by Vader roughly 3 or 4 years before ANH. With the "World Between Worlds", Ezra manages to rescue her from the moment before Vader kills her into the World Between Worlds, so when she comes back out of that dimension, it's just a couple months before the Battle of Yavin.

So, Ahsoka did miss a few years there, but she was "around" during the original trilogy...somewhere.

She was…when she wasn’t blinked out of existence in the World Between Worlds.

I think he’s just that quick handed. Fastest gun in the west type character. Jango Fett pretty much stood toe to toe with Obi Wan in clone wars. So it’s possible.

Holy shite….Luke, Ahsoka and Cad Bane all in one episode

Luke and/or Ahsoka are going to come save the day against the Pykes.

Who knows, even if he choses Mando/armor, they may be heading towards a storyline of Grogu becoming a Mandolorian Jedi like the darksaber creator, Tarre Vizsla.
Grogu is going to sling that dark saber around like it weighs nothing

Jedi aren't indomitable fighters. When you consider their abilities, they actually suck at fighting in the movies. They get their shite pushed in, pulling it out at the last second everywhere by not using their abilities. Sith on the other hand take advantage of their powers much more.

Remember there was a whole war of the mandalorians beating up Jedi.

If you get to watch the clone war cartoon series, you'll learn Cad Bane is a badass. He's the first character that was legitimately scary as a villain. Quick witted, quick triggered, utterly ruthless, evil.

Did anyone catch Luke say that he wasn’t teaching Grogu, as much as Grogu is remembering? Is that a foreshadowing of Grogu being someone else? Does that mean that he will just naturally become strong with the force and doesn’t actually need training? That little tidbit between Ashoka and Luke highly intrigued me
Just need Yoda’s force ghost to show up and say “your father, I am”

Book of Boba Fett seems to be a better show without Boba Fett.

People talking about foreshadowing and callbacks to older material...

Obi-wan on Tatooine to Luke: For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times, before the Empire

Mando: are you a Jedi?
Luke: I am

Luke shows a sense of connection as a Jedi multiple times, instead of cutting the strings; and it serves him well. He rescues Han and Leia several times, he turns himself in to protect them. He refuses to fight Vader because he's his father. And it works...
Vader: You were right. You were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right.

Soon, he's going to have a conversation with someone (maybe Threepio)...
"Master Luke, remember your old homeworld, Tatooine? Boba Fett has taken over Jabba's crime empire, and wants to protect businesses and keep the price of water fair. He's helping out the native population of Tuskens, even. But now an international drug/Spice syndicate is trying to take over, and turn the planet of humble farmers into a crime-ridden ghetto. They're shooting honest lawmen in the street.

I understand that nice Mandalorian that protected Grogu is going to help out. I do hope he can help bring peace and justice to those people. It's a shame others aren't helping. Too bad the Jedi are no more; this seems like something they would have done, if only they had been interested in backwater worlds"

From what I've seen/read, he was. Has anyone in this thread read those books? Are they worth it?
I listened to the audiobooks when they came out, don't remember too much about them but they're worth a read.

They have interlude chapters here and there with random characters, and that's where Vanth is introduced.

I read a handful of new canon books after TFA when I was all hyped up for Star Wars again, but the only one that left a lasting impression on me was Lost Stars. That was a damn good story, and an interesting look at the OT era from a different point of view.

Favreau continues to impress. I really enjoyed the moment between Ahsoksa and Luke where she referenced Anakin. This actually felt like a true sequel.

And lol at Grogu literally training more in this episode than Rey did in 3 movies.

I was hoping the writers had Din Djarin meeting up with Luke so he could help him understand how to wield the Darksaber.

I think the average Jedi just isn't that great of a fighter. The elite Jedi, like Anakin, Obi-Wan, Windu, Yoda, Qui Gon, Luke, and Sith Lords, they aren't going to suck at fighting.
You watch Order 66 play out and Jedi are being killed by 5 or 6 storm troopers shooting them. I would say if 5 storm troopers can kill a jedi, then you were a shitty jedi. That would never happen to the ones i just mentioned.

Jango Fett was supposed to be this awesome bounty hunter, killed jedi, yet he gets in one little fight with Mace Windu and gets his head sliced off with ease.
There are Jedi, and there are elite Jedi.

I just want to say that it is past time for Grogu to start talking . Even if one word here and there as if he is just starting to learn. Enough with the baby noises. What is he, the equivalent of a human 1 year old? Yoda was around 800 I believe. We know Grogu was alive and being trained about 25 years before so he is probably 30 or so in Foundling years, at least. He should be about 4-5 in human years. Time for him to stop the goo goo ga ga and start talking.

Mace would have merc’d Palps if Anakin hadn’t shown up. Mace was probably the greatest warrior in the jedi order. That’s why he made quick work of Jango when Obi-Wan struggled.

I miss Boba. He's been pretty mild so far. Hopefully he becomes a little more violent with the bar bombing.

I think in Ep. 1 of the Mandalorian they said he was like 50 or 60 normal years old.

But give him a break...apparently it takes that species a while to learn to speak English as goodly as me and you. Hell, Yoda was 900 and still couldn't get simple sentence structure right.

ETA: correct spelling so that Din isn't a stringed instrument

I knew when I saw this thread grow like 9 pages since Wednesday that the latest episode must have been epic, and it totally was.

Loved everything about this episode - the way it's tying together all of the various Star Wars stories/properties from over the years is incredible.

I've mentioned before that even though they're mostly ridiculed nowadays, I enjoy flashbacks and references to the prequels since I was young when they came out, and seeing Order 66 from Grogu's POV was really cool to me.

I believe that Luke saying to Ahsoka "maybe his heart's just not in it" definitely foreshadows Grogu choosing Mando, but I wholeheartedly trust that even if Grogu chooses Luke, F&F can develop a compelling way in which Grogu reunites with Mando down the line, maybe to ultimately claim the darksaber. It just doesn't have to be an immediate decision in which Grogu is no longer a main character.

Would love for an aged Emilia Clarke to show up as the driving force behind the Syndicate. And then she shows her tits.

And just to echo what so many have already said, the juxtaposition of the enjoyment that The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett bring to Star Wars fans with the dread most of us feel when considering that this all feeds into the Sequel trilogy is just crazy.

I feel no attachment whatsoever to the Sequels and even if Disney tried to insert a young Republic X-wing pilot who reveals himself later to be "Poe Dameron," I think most of us would be like who the frick cares.

if Grogu chooses Luke he will totally save Mando down the line in some way.

was so excited to see Bane until i realized he was walking towards Vanth.
