Butler needs to go see a psychiatrist. Every scene he was in in Masters of the Air completely took me out of the moment due to his ridiculous voice

It's a shame it's not making much money. We will soon be left with cartoons and comics books in the theater.

I don't think psychiatrists fix people's voices.

That's fantastic news

I think they can help him disassociate from Elvis potentially.
But he has said he's been seeing voice coaches trying to lose the Elvis voice and it's been really hard. I think he talked like Elvis for years and never stopped prior to, and during the filming of that movie to get the voice down and he just can't shake it.
Never seen anything like it in acting

Saw this yesterday and enjoyed it. Like others thought, wasn’t a fan of Hardy’s performance. I think everyone’s getting burned out on his “badass” roles. Would like to see him do more stuff like Locke and Inception. Butler was solid as always, don’t really get the hate for him. He’s been great in everything he’s been in. Norman Reedus stole the show once he showed up. Probably won’t make my top movies of the year list, but was worth the price of admission
This is a good read on the movie. I really liked Hardy's performance, though. Thought he was channeling Brando pretty closely, which they refer to in the movie as an inspiration.
Was it an all-time great movie? No. But, it was really good and was a story that was compelling, well acted, and took the viewer somewhere interesting. I walked out feeling like I entered into a story about a time, place, and people I barely remember, or have only somewhat bumped up against in the past, but wanted to know more about.
It didn't change the world or move the earth, but it was a good movie that wasn't about superheroes or action stars or some dramatic contemporary social issue. We need more story telling like this, in my opinion.

Also why does Tom Hardy talk like that?
Watched the movie today. I thought Tom Hardy sounded a bit like Marlon Brando. I wonder if that is what they were trying to do make him sound like MB.

When it comes to Austin Butler yes he has the Elvis voice. However his overall look like the tilt of the head, and hair reminded me of James Dean.

I compare the antagonist to Billy Blanco from Carlito's Way.
. Same premises, wouldn't let him join. Beat him up.
Then he comes back for revenge and takes over.
