Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

If you haven't actually read the script, I would recommend it.

I’m late to this. So many good scripts advanced. Maybe this has been mentioned. Sorry if it has.

I think the script is flawless. In addition, the cinematography, acting across the board, pretty much everything meets my criteria for a perfect film.

Fargo, Goodfellas and Rocky.

Edited to remove Wizard of Oz. Forgot the modern part. In it's place i would add The Shining.

The original script for Django Unchained was incredible. Unfortunately, there were quite a few edits/omissions in the film.

And FWIW the best script is Chinatown.

From a plot/character/narrative standpoint, I get why people think this, but from a dialogue standpoint it's nowhere close to countless other films such as Network or Apocalypse or Jaws or a lot of other films.

Dr Strangelove is far more impressive than Chinatown, which only has one incredible line, but that's about it.

Apocyose also had like 5 of the most quotable film lines of the last 50 yrs.

Upon review, I want to add two more.

I’ve always known The Big Lebowski for the great movie it is, but it is also apparently very tightly scripted.

The second is JFK. Yes, I know two men who really changed history - Oliver Stone and JFK. But the movie is very well done.

Unless I've missed it there is no mention yet of No Country for Old Men. The movie was great because the script was 90% straight from Cormac McCarthy. The Coen's did a great job, but mostly didn't frick up McCarthy's writing.

Network was a great pick earlier. Absence of Malice deserves a mention.

One of the first I thought of. Seems like that movie is love or hate for a lot of people bought I thought it was amazing. There didn't seem to be a single wasted word and I thought it bounced from funny to sinster and good to evil perfectly

The first two that came to mind are Fargo and The Social Network.

Man that script is so tight and flows so damn well even with how erratic the pace can be.

Fantastic movie
