Trash movie.

Way too long and tried way to hard to be moody and emo.

Too much red cinematography passed off as artistic.

Jeffrey Wright was forgettable

Two long instances of the same Nirvana song? Lazy

Not a fan, everyone else I know enjoyed it.

A lot of the criticisms I actually agree with. Like Dano. I really did not think he was very good. Terrible with his mask off

mask on he was even bad, his video clips where they tried to dial up his psycho were cringy. He just couldn't pull it off. Opening scene was brutal and I thought it would end up being bad arse...but he basically sucked the more he talked.

Had this been The Batman: Season One released on HBO Max, people would be praising it on a Daredevil type of level. But that don’t pay the bills

Probably so. I get they didn't want to do his origin again...but dropping us smack dab in the middle of this universe was a bad idea. I just didn't really care about any character because we knew nothing about them minus what you know from previous iterations. You need to have some sort of backstory

There was no real mystery to it and the “payoffs” were kind of lame, the Waynes weren’t perfect and Riddler was a pissed off orphan.

I think this is fair, the whole Thomas Wayne thing didn’t really work and the orphan angle wasn’t very interesting. I would have liked to have seen them go even darker and give it a R rating but they will never do that with their cash cow Batman. They wanted to go full Se7en and I think it would have been great if they did. Instead we got a watered down version of it.

I do think they nailed Penguin/Falcone and overall I thought the tone was enjoyable.

nobody gives a shite about this movie except for me and you i'm afraid.

but it seems as though those who watched it at home didn't enjoy it as much. is that because the theater folks try to "justify" the money spent or does the "theater experience" still exists? i've seen it 3 times in theaters. enjoyed it every time.

love it or hate, just get over it. everyone here that's wanted to see it has seen it and have thoroughly explained their thoughts on it already. let's just quit beating a dead horse.

that's not true at all. we're calling the sensitive snowflakes crazy for being triggered over a certain phrase. i can almost guarantee that if that one phrase wasn't spoken, there wouldn't be such a big deal made about it.

I just watched it. Thought it was mostly good. Not on level with Batman Begins or The Dark Knight, but probably a top 5 Batman movie.

I liked the Detective angle, but felt it didn't really pay off. Agree that it borrowed very heavily from Se7en. Liked how they jumped into him as Batman, don't need another origin story.

Gotham looked great. Batmobile was awesome.

Penguin and Gordon were good. Falcone too.

Pattinson and Catwoman were okay.

I thought Riddler was weak. That first scene was strong, then went downhill IMO. Spoiler/theory: were they hinting he was Martha's secret son?

I'm definitely interested to see where they take it. A film with a flooded Gotham carved up by rival gangs (kind of like no man's land) would be cool. Mention of Bludhaven signals Nightwing.

Finished it. Mad at myself for not seeing it in the theater. I like how grounded it was but Batman using a flashlight? Come on man….

No problems with Pattinson as Batman but his Bruce Wayne left a lot to be desired.

yeah this is when I was thinking oh shite they're going all in on this Se7en thing and then it was kind of just half stepping "ah this murder was brutal, we didn't show it on screen but trust us, it was bad."

This is still a PG13 film. I'd love to see a Batman film go R rated, but that's never gonna happen.

understood but just don't bother going that route if you can't go all in. Tough to do a suspense/thriller when you lack both

I would like to see an adaptation of Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth.
