Agatha All Along 2.3
X-Men 97 1.4
Skeleton Crew .9
Thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of these much more than Acolyte.

Anytime I see them use “minutes” i automatically think they are trying to hide something or trying to make the numbers look more impressive.
I could tell everyone that there was a show on TV this past year that had 35 Billion minutes viewed and probably no one on here saw it. It would sound really impressive until I told you that the show was The Young and the Restless (45 min/ show with an average viewership of 3MM people).

Yeah thats the thing to me. People claim disney/shows would get more views if they were faithful to the source material. This post shows that isnt true at all. X-men 97 got almost no views.

this has to be among original programming because Bluey is #1

I finally caved and watched it a few weeks ago before I started Skeleton Crew. It wasn’t good, but wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. The whole ascension ceremony was the only part that was eye roll worthy. A 5 year old could have come up with a better chant. The bald green lady Jedi master was kind of annoying, but they may have been onto something with showing the beginnings of the senate distrust towards the Jedi that Palpatine ultimately exploits to become emporer later.

That was my takeaway pretty much when i originally watched. If you were in the show thread you couldnt even discuss the episodes tho, which i find to be pretty immature of folks.

I was fine.
not anywhere near as terrible as people said and there were some actually awesome parts and characters i wish got more time to develop.
It started slow like almost all of the Disney+ star wars content outside the Mandolorian.
The witches were incredible cringy.
Otherwise it was entertaining.

420, this is a pathetic thread considering they cancelled it for being wokeist trash

420 and southkinja just cant help themselves..between the 2 of them that probably makes up 99% of the threads & posts about the acolyte

quote:This is telling... with Acolyte having 2b more vies than Ahsoka and with Ahsoka having histroy and Acolyte being new material, you can deduce that it wasnt starwars fans watching all this extra minutes... You can also assume that they really isnt that huge of a woke audience watching that crap...
The premiere episode had around 2.5 million views on its first day available while the finale got less than 1 million views.
Through 5 weeks The Acolyte was getting about half the audience of Ahsoka. The budget of The Acolyte was around $180 million vs the $100 million budget of Ahsoka.
Disney+ top ten wasn't very impressive.
Percy Jackson 3 billion
Acolyte 2.7 billion
Agatha All Along 2.3
Echo 1.5
X-Men 97 1.4
The Bad Batch S3 .9
Skeleton Crew .9
Ahsoka .8
Mandalorian S3 .8
Mandalorian S1 .7
So it would be interesting to dig into the minutes data to see if there were streams set up to constantly replay the series over and over to inflate those minutes.

It’s a bit misleading because Ahsoka came out in August 2023 and this is a breakdown of minutes watched in 2024. Bad Batch season 3, Acolyte, Skeleton Crew were the 2024 releases. Skeleton Crew went into 2025 so I would expect it should be higher.
It does seem like the Star Wars shows have more rewatchability since they are the only ones showing up a year after release.

There are nerds out there nerdy enough to do this?

I think there are some qualifiers missing. Is this original d+ series? Only new series? Because if it's just most watched series on D+ I'm sure Bluey crushes that.

artificially inflate a show thats already canceled haha
You do know they have to justify their ad costs right? Otherwise, they have to provide free time to those advertisers

Disney+ Basic Disney+ (With Ads) Monthly: $9.99
Disney+ Premium Disney+ (No Ads) Monthly: $15.99

This graph contextualizes The Acolyte's viewership within the declining trend of new Disney Star Wars shows. With .9 billion minutes viewed, The Skeleton Crew continues this downward trend.

Even within the article it explains how big of a failure it was

Minutes watched is a weird metric. Theoretically couldn't Disney fans just do what Taylor swift fans do and rewatch it over and over again just to boost those kind of numbers?
When did we shift from total household views to total minutes?

I think views are pretty useless for streaming when people can click a show and then turn it off 5 minutes into an episode.
