I keep seeing rumors about ep. 3 being alluded to. But what are these rumors?

I think it has something to do with the Twin Girls being witches and the force is just witchcraft or something.

Ok. This can’t be real. Can it? If so, that settles it. They’re purposely trying to kill off the franchise.

Okay. I watched the first two episodes, and this is my opinion. I’m not an unhinged Star Wars fan, for the record. At least, I think that’s the case.

The good thing about the show is that most of the production quality is good. The “look” of Star Wars is there. It’s shot well, and the direction is pretty good.

That’s about it, in my opinion.

I think the story is not very compelling. So far it’s a basic revenge plot with a twist that’s revealed within an episode. Typical Star Wars hidden master/apprentice thing going on.

The action scenes aren’t that great.

The acting is not very good at all. The casting has a “too young” feel to it. Can’t put my finger on why.

It just isn’t very interesting. I don’t feel like I want to keep watching it.

I wasn’t that excited about this project to begin with, and I remain I unexcited about it 60 minutes in.

That's what I've heard and I 100% believe it because they've given me no reason over the past 10 years not to.

Watched it last night....not impressed. Only interesting character so far is the squid game guy. Dude in the force bubble looked like Neil Patrick Harris in half his lemony snicket prosthetics. What a waste of time and money. Can they just fire Kennedy already?

Squid game guy sort of looks like the Asian Stevie Janowski.

You’re probably right, the things being reported about this show are unbelievably retarded and don’t even have to do with her messaging. More so just flat out idiotic ideas.

Anakin still brought balance to the Force. It was never permanent. His grandkids were going dark side in the EU and Sequels. Something happening 100 years before doesn’t negate his necessity during the Skywalker era.

If I’m not mistaken, the current canon on Anakin’s birth is Palpatine used the dark side to impregnate Shmi. It’s from the Vader comics in the late 2010s.

ETA: the panels from the comic

idk he seems pretty important in the world whether he’s the first force birth or not.

Also, I dint knownif you can compare the crucifixion to becoming Darth Vader.

thats not a parallel

and NONE of that was in the OT so saying Vader is a jesus allegory is the central theme of star wars is fricking crazy

Call me crazy, but I prefer my entertainment be an escape from the unrelenting barrage of leftist propaganda and DEI crap that permeates almost every facet of life today. Is that too much to ask?

Here’s the thing, though. Even when these shows don’t have the political messaging, people still bitch about them. So it’s like…what’s the point when everything is extreme hyperbole and everything is woke trash from Disney?

Stick it to them by not watching. If Ep3 isn’t better, I’m out.

Now I know why they skipped Jesus’ teenage years in the Bible. That’s when he went crazy and murdered all his friends apparently.

Oh boy. I could care less they’re lesbians but having other children born from the Force is going to cause people, including myself, to lose their shite. Surely they didn’t allow that to happen…

At what point does Disney get someone like Feige to run and oversee Star Wars? There’s no way Filoni would have allowed this…

It’s covered more in the novel Darth Plageus. At that time Sidious was his appearance. Plageus was doing experiments on living beings, including one of his other former appearances, by manipulating the midichlorians to keep them alive. Plaegus would torture and kill them multiple times then bring them back. It was this abomination against the Force caused the Force to “conceive” Anakin to restore balance. Plageus didn’t purposely bring about Anakin and Sidious only had a small part in experiments. That’s why when Sidious told Anakin about the “Tragedy of Darth Plageus the Wise” he mentioned only one Sith Lord had ever discovered this secret. It’s because he didn’t fully know how Plageus did it.

Sidebar: in the time of Phantom Menace, Sidious was still the apprentice of Darth Plageus. It’s not shown in the film, but when Qui-Gon Jin first brings Anakin to Coruscant and they land on that floating platform, Darth Plageus is watching from near-by. When he sees Anakin he has a Force Vision of his future, including him becoming Darth Vader and ultimately destroying the Sith. This scared the shite out of Plageus. Later on, again not shown in the movie, when Palpatine is elected as Chancellor after the defeat of the Trade Federation, later that same night Sidious murders Plageus in his sleep. This takes place days before Palpatine travels to Naboo for the victory celebration there. So it was not until the very end of Phantom Menace that Darth Sidious kills his master and assumes to full title of Dark Lord of the Sith.

The whole point of Anakin was that he was an anomaly. Possibly created by a miracle through the Force and potentially Plagueis+Palpatine as well. It wasn’t about the Jesus allegory. It was the fact that Qui Gon had never heard of a child being conceived through the Force.

And if it could be replicated, I’m sure Palpatine would have done it over and over again to keep creating powerful apprentices. But it seemed more like a miracle that Anakin was created in the first place

The Darth Plagueis novel is fantastic. It’s a great read and there is also a very well done audiobook version, as well. Highly recommend.

No it wasn’t.

The Whole point was that he’s Lukes father and that Luke and the forces of good can redeem him.

The Hero’s Journey, Family, Good Vs Evil and the power of redemption are the central themes of the OT and thus Star Wars.

Finished both episodes.

Camera work and scenery is great. Can see where all the money went.

Action choreography is as bad as Boba Fett

Sol is the only remotely decent character or actor.

Dialogue is just
