Mando is absolutely a substitute Boba Fett. Which is probably why the Boba Fett show sucked. Mando already does what we want BF to do. so they tried to have BF do something different but didn’t commit to a ruthless crime
show.

But we also know almost nothing about Boba Fett from the OT. Mando has all his best qualities: Cool armor but they were free to give him a new backstory that works better with the show.

I thinj calling R1 and Andor OT stories is fair. they are filling in information about the rebellion.

But Mando is clearly post-OT Story. exploring what’s going on after the collapse of the empire. clearly a different age.

Right but his character comes from the fans wanting a Bobba Fett show and I’m not saying those shows being connected to the OT is the only reason they’re good but you do get a boost from it. What I’m actually saying is about the rest of it. A good example of what I’m talking about is the show Ozark where a minor character became primary in the show. If you had developed Rey in the same manner she might be able to carry your next trilogy.

Yeah he’s Boba Fett without any string attached so they could tell any story they wanted with him.

All the cool aspect of boba fett from the OT without the PT backstory and all the other EU stuff.

Yea I didn’t like injecting him into the prequels either.

Before the Acolyte released, all the marketing material FROM DISNEY centered around the identity of the cast and showrunner. Every interview the cast and showrunner gave were about identity.

He knows. He's just hates white people and is rooting for his little team.

The typical strategy is that they shoehorn non-whites into things, make them suck and then cry racism/sexism when people complain. The dominant element is women, especially girl boss characters, because that's their target audience. They want to make it look like white guys hate them, when in fact we just hate the crap that's being produced.

House of the Dragon has a diverse cast
It doesn't hurt the show, but it's definitely shoehorned and is kind of absurd. The wigs they came up with look like what Joe Dirt ended up with at the end of that movie. The fact that the show is good and successful angers the wokies, because they want critics they can call racist, etc. They want the shows to suck for that reason.

How do Star Wars threads still get this much activity? At this point well over half the official content is trash. The universe itself isn’t particularly interesting or consistent. It wasn’t even consistent between the original trilogy and prequel trilogy.

It’s remarkable how much of a lightning rod this brand is over just 3 very good films from over 40 years ago. It’s like obsessing over a person who was hot in high school but is now a meth addict.

It’s the same reason Disney is destroying it. The original trilogy is a global, cultural touchstone.

No, it sucked because the writing was terrible.

But it's also another example of this satanic inversion thing Hollywood has been doing for a while recently. Bad guys are good, and good guys are bad. Malefecent and Cruella are two good examples of this. Lesbian Headlamp has made that a big part of this show. She's even said that when she sees star wars villains, they're all 'queer coded,' which to her is good. She sees villains and to her, those are the good guys.

That ought to tell you something about her personally.

Yeah, I'm sure the communist activist will be super faithful to the lore.

You had 3 movies to evolve that character and didn't

I yawn at this movie's existence

you’re not wrong. But everything you’d want from a Boba Fett show we basically got in Mandalorian. He is a cool faceless bounty hunter with awesome weapons.

That’s everything people like about BF in the OT (and there was almost nothing else known about him)

I also agree with you that naking Boba Fett good was a huge issue with that show. at best he should be an opportunist and he should be ruthless. this guy was fine working for the empire.

Honestly, I cant tell you whoes the bad guy in this show. The Jedi aren’t coming across as outright evil. Neither are the witches. Mae’s master seems evil.

Star Wats has always had cool
villains though.

people don’t dress up like Darth Vader and storm troopers because they’re demonic

Reva was a horribly written character and shoehorned in.

And it was obvious from the moment her character was announced that she would end up being the hero of the show.

It’s either the mom or Osha but Darth Teeth is definitely female.

I just had an epiphany.

I rewatched Revenge of the Sith tonight and I felt joy seeing the woke Jedi get utterly destroyed by the Sith so fast and completely. Acolyte has made me like this
