Episode 7 is top 3-5 worst episode of Disney Star Wars
Posted on 7/13/24 at 12:13 am to Madking
not really.
episode 3 was worse
Episode 2 of Andor was terrible
I think a couple episodes of Obi-wan were worse.
This one at least answered a bunch of questions that they had set up throughout the season.

so being a dumbass then backing up and saying it's all male believe. Hahaha
You have spent the past 3 days arguing this electrical fire.
I said it worked different in the star wars universe THE ENTIRE TIME. Why else would I be using videos and images from a Star Wars TV show to decipher the electrical fire started in the Acolyte instead of some youtube video of an electrician?
you were busy trying to win an argument or prove a point so you kept skipping over that
The first post you responded to me over the fire had this in it
quote:
Yeah it wouldn't happen like that in our world but neither would half the shite that happens in star wars.
but you hate the show so you wanted to take the side of the guy criticizing it. It's basic human behavior.
you bypassed the entire jest of the argument and went straight to grammar/terminology police

I think you’ve jumped the shark trying to explain sci fi tech.
He tried to argue with me.
I earnestly pleaded with him to stop doing this to himself. It got bad.
He tried to double down a couple times. It got worse.
He eventually dropped it.
I wasn't explaining any tech in the show. I was trying to prevent your buddy from making an arse out of himself, to little effect. Go back and read it.
It is:
-He says a wrong thing
-me saying "dude, please stop. That is so wrong"
-Him C&P'd an image and then misunderstanding what the image says
-Me explaining how he got that wrong
-He doubles down
-I start giving him outs
-he argues
-I plead with him to stop
-he continues
-I try to educate him further
-he finally stopped
Not only was I nice about it. I put on my teacher hat (taught for 20 years) and tried to educate him, and prevent him from diminishing his already meager perception on this board. Confidently wrong is much more damaging than just wrong.

quote:-The Jedi were not bad, just stupid. That was probably the moral to the episode.
This one at least answered a bunch of questions that they had set up throughout the season.
-White male padawan was annoying af, and I am glad he's dead. Although his "burden" is dumb and insufficient.
-Wookies look awkward af with lightsabers. Not cool as we'd hoped.
-Sol may be a pedophile
-Black commie lesbian is almost certainly a Harvey Weinstein analogue for little boys
-The power of many was laughably weak af. one Jedi pushed them all out of dude's head, they all die? THE POWER OF THE THREAD!!!!

the power of one power of too power of many shite makes no sense.
I thinj we always knew the Jedi weren’t going to be explicitly evil. Torbin absolutely should feel guilty.
the Counsel told him not to intervene.
His master told him not to intervene.
His ran off because he thought if the grabbed the twins it would prove the vergence and he could go back to Coruscant
And it lead to the death of roughly 40 people including a kid.

I am not saying he didn't screw up. I am saying the onus is insufficient to explain the suicide.
Plus he said "we thought we were doing the right thing" to Mae. Not "I".
So his guilt would mean the overall mission of the team, not just his part in it. The team didn't do anything that was suicide worthy.
And if he was so suicidally eaten up with guilt, how did he make Master?
It is just bad writing, man.

I thinj causing the death of 40 people and a child is sufficient onus for guilt and a strong need for repentance especially when faced with a survivor.
shite that’s the plot to In Bruge.
also if feel like if you force
meditate for a decade you at some point get master. It’s like
those monk that mummify themselves to become
buddhas.

If you took all the rationalizations and excuses from people pretending to defend this show and put them together as a narrative it might end up as an even bigger disaster than the show itself.
Posted on 7/13/24 at 1:20 pm to Madking
you call it “rationalizing”
I call it “pointing out what happened in the show”
Some complaints are just baseless.
“Mae flips her objectives for no reason!”
Mae literally says out loud to Qimir why she was going to turn herself in
“Sol and Torbin didn’t do anything to feel guilty about!”
They literally caused an incident that lead to the death of 20 plus people who weren’t harming anyone. Oh and Sol chose to let a kid drop because he liked one better.
There are things to complain about but some complaints are baseless.

Exactly my point, you can pretend anything you want to is just a matter of perspective. The problem is it makes no sense to a normal person without an agenda.

I think you have to intentionally ignore things that happen in the show to maintain some of these terrible opinions.

That’s projection, it’s exactly what you’re doing.

I’m not saying there are no valid complaints.
I am saying certain ones are just not based on what happens on screen.

I’ll give you the space fire which is still stupid but dips into a gray area. Other than that the complaints about the show on this board have been subdued and restricted to major plot holes. There’s so much more to point out that hasn’t really even been discussed.
