I'm almost finished with my 1k piece lego R2. Putting it together reminds me how pure and simple Star Wars used to be.
I'll always cherish the memories. But look at what they've done to our boy...
I naively thought that the Disney purchase would be a good thing. They were in the middle of the Marvel heyday, before they had run it into the ground.
I WANTED more Star Wars. More than Lucas was willing to give.
Just not this version of it.

I don't think any of us thought it would end up this way. I didn't even think it was possible. A $4.5 billion dollar movie IP that winds up just being shitty tv shows?
I remember being pumped for Disney because we'd get to see so many things from the EU.
This was also when Disney as a whole still had its identity and wasn't fighting every political battle they could find.

Hollywood must internally combust into dust before anything that's been ruined can comeback. It's a completely hopeless place and I cannot figure out why, after going on 8-9 years, there are still people who speak as if there's a Hollywood that actually tries to make good content and not political propaganda wrapped with bastardized IPs as a face plate to hide it.
Everyone in Hollywood, from the background actors to the hiring managers to the coffee assistant, is a die hard out of their mind progressive leftist.
There's nothing you can do to change that and it's getting worse as the younger and more radical generations replace the more left-center Hollywood boomers.
