Well, they do put their intentions and messages into their content, so it's probably more than one executive. It's a progressive ideal for sure, as it could be a blow to traditional society constructs that we may never recover from.
And oh the gene editing. Can't wait for the master race.

Part of the reason that the writing, dialogue and story are so bad is because those aspects of it aren’t important to Headland. Sure the messaging is out of place and over the top obvious but with some nuance and restraint you could actually introduce some of that stuff in a subtle way that might make it’s existence somewhat believable in universe. This is why there’s no defense for these shows. They’ve become this unpalatable mix of the show runners self insert, wish fulfillment and political propaganda. Thats why nobody likes it.

I expect a certain level of weirdness with any witch coven.
But it’s saying essentially “strength in numbers” over and over again like it’s profound and not just common sense is dumb.

That chant is something that will follow this show around forever. Also “strength in numbers” for a group that cannot reproduce is pretty dumb.

Disney is trying to make it a thing.
This show was billed as a mystery and i am not sure what the mystery is.
First I thought it was going to be who was killing Jedi. thats what I believes coming into it, but that was solved pretty fast.
Then I thought it was going to be how the first started.
But nope that happened pretty fast.
so far every “mystery” has just been me not knowing something about a show i’ve never seen before.

And that basic thing is the broken backbone of the show. The murder mystery lasts half an episode so it isn’t a murder mystery show at all. The only real mystery is finding out who Smilo-REN will end up being but I’m fairly certain we’ll be able to deduce this well before the reveal happens and that isn’t something nearly big enough to support a show anyway.
